Lord As I think deeply about my sins My troubles and despairs And how lonely I’m feeling I realize the only thing I can do Think about how I’m living And turn back to you You are kind Your love never fails In all that I say and do I still wonder why You still love me Even in your wrath You show me grace and mercy And you haven’t rejected me You grieve when you Send me pain You send the rain when I’m afflicted with sorrow Even when I sin Over and over again You still have compassion for me What all of this shall profit thee? One moment I’m alive The next moment I’m dead But when I fall you lift me up When I sin you forgive me Your love overshadows you anger In you O God Can I trust when I pray to you? Shall you hear and answer me When I weep Pouring my heart out to you You shall keep me from harm Wiping away my tears Ascending me to drier ground I pray thee Everything commanded for me Becomes a good report And blessings overtake me Like a violent storm Destructive in power Fearful in the sight of man Take away my despairs my Lord Restore my strength The joy blazing brightly Like an open fire Make me blameless before all That I might live again I cannot begin to express My thanks for all your works My soul thanks you My body honors you My spirit gives you praise My despairs are only temporary |
