The Destiny I Keep, Chapter II:
I Know My Mistakes

I know my mistakes yes I do
Either after someone tells me
Or the Lord utters them to me
I’m not perfect
I slip and fall when I least expected to
Facing the challenges of life
I rise taller than ever before
Standing to meet them directly
With my God
My battles are fought and won
And all I have to do
Is pray, listen, and obey

I know my mistakes yes I do
Only say it once in hope I will get it
But sometimes I don’t listen
And it must be told over and over again
Because I think in my own way
One may not think I understand my mistakes
But again yes I do
I know my mistakes
No need to tell it again
Help me to listen and obey Lord
So that it can only be mentioned once
And hopefully it shall not be uttered again

How do I know my mistakes?
When my wrongs are displayed to me
Seventy-times seven
Because I don’t listen
And sometimes I do
But my words are nowhere near expressed
To the one I’m talking to
And his voice rings louder in my ear
Until my anger reaches the roof
Instead I want to leave
Before I do something I shall regret
A long distance I shall walk
Until the rocks cool down
From a volcanic explosion nearby

From this I know my mistakes yes I do
