Prayer of This Husband’s Troubled Heart

Dear Lord,
Humbly I seek you in this quite place
Now that my wife has vanished for a little while
I can now clear the air of what is bothering me

My spirit is wounded from the words she uses to tear me down
Day and night I have no rest
For her words destroyed every bit of self I have in me
And what she says, she gives no thought to what is uttered
Therefore, her words are like a sword cutting to the point of death
Take that heart away from me and give me a new
I ask of thee to renew my spirit
To give me back the kind of faith I had before this day
No matter what she says that isn’t in faith
That I might pray and ask of you to forgive her for walking in doubt
Touch my heart O Lord
Feel how painful and fragile it has became
Take this cup from me; I don’t have to drink of the wine of her anger any longer

Forgive her Lord for the words she has spoke that isn’t of you
In the name of Jesus, I speak to the house I reside
Gather together those unclean spirits
Among these are negativity, division, revenge, anger, despair, and disunity
And leave this place right now
For when my wife returns she shall be pleasant and encouraging
She shall treat me as a man of God must be treated
My wife shall obey me
My wife shall listen to what I have to say
My wife shall esteem me as man rather than a little boy
We shall have the same passion for each other in our early days
My wife shall place away all that isn’t pleasing to God
My wife shall have a clean heart, a more powerful spirit
That every time she speaks, words of life shall flow
Like a mighty rushing river of clear water shall her words bright life in me

Daily, it has been difficult to ask her for forgiveness of what I had done wrong
Give me the words to say to her that will change this situation
I never wish to remain with one in hostility
Nor give way to arguments and strife
In all I live thanks unto you for all that is done this day forward
It’s done in Jesus name
Amen
