After twelve years of writing poetry, I finally have an opportunity to become a published author. In my first book, The True Experience, I have gathered over one hundred poems or more expressing myself in a way I could not do by word of mouth. These prose of writing address issues and visions in my life over the past few years. I hope my book will be a source of inspiration and comfort to you (the readers). Looking back on my literary career, I can truly say that my work not only influenced people; but also placed me on the heights with modern day poets. For this achievement, all thanks and glory is all to God. If He had not bestowed this gift in me, nothing could be possible.
In The True Experience, I find myself facing difficult problems within my inner self and seeking a path to forgiveness and peace. I held nothing back from my life, which in a sense became an open book to everyone who will read it. I had chosen to write this collection of poems, as a testimony of what I once was to who I am now. I don’t have it all together, but through the grace of Jesus Christ, I know I can make it here on Earth.
Through all my trials, it seemed as if I had no one to talk to because I believed everyone was talking against me. So I turned to writing poetry to uncover my true feelings, no matter what the objections were. In my writings, I could be bold without question or disrespect, emotional without being soft, and a reporter without gossiping. I want the entire world to know the different style of prose I can introduce to the literary market. I have a story to tell. As I always hear: The only one who can understand your poetry is you.
