ery few cars have enjoyed the iconic status world over as the Rover SD1 and this car rubs shoulders with the likes of Mercedes, BMW & other luxury/sports cars.
Rover SD1 - The Story in Pictures is a way for me to pay tribute to one of the timeless cars ever produced in the United Kingdom. Just as the sub-title suggests, this book contains beautiful pictures of Rover SD1 car.
One of the finest cars ever built Rover SD1 has passed on to the ages and this book aims to relive the past with stunning photographs of the classic car. Divided into 12 categories, the pictures would be a visual treat for Rover SD1 fans.
Essentially, Rover SD1 is a British car yet the appeal of this car transcends all barriers – geographical, racial & linguistic divisions. If you are die-hard Rover fan, you would agree with me when I say that Rover SD1’s strength lies in its styling, sturdiness, safety that offers comfort & luxury. Moreover, it is pure fun driving around.
Designing this book has been a pleasure for me since I am not just a fan of this car but my family owns this car even to this day. My dad still commutes to work in this car daily and we use it for family outings during the weekend, shopping, etc.
Traveling in this car is an experience in itself today. For sure, Rover SD1 still retains its show-stopping looks and makes people to gasp in awe at the beauty of the vehicle. No wonder, often people stop by to ask the details of the car and at times we get offers to purchase which we politely decline. Though there is absolutely no value in the market for this obsolete car, yet admirers abound for this vehicle that makes this car an ever-green classic. Believe me when I say these since this is out of my personal experience of using this car.
I am sure Rover SD1 fans would turn nostalgic about its heydays and enjoy seeing the pictures just as I had while preparing this book. I am thankful to those who helped me in procuring these pictures and many of them were downloaded from "The World of the Rover SD1 made by Rene Winters" and other SD1 websites that the Internet is teeming with. Without them, this book wouldn’t have been possible.
Before I sign off, I would like to thank all Rover SD1 fans who are active all over the world and still go that extra mile to keep their car up and running. I was astounded by the sheer number of Rover SD1 fan clubs that are operating all over the world. Hats off to you guys and it is ample testimony to the quality & appeal of the classic Rover SD1.
Thank you Rover SD1 and I am proud to own a Rover SD1. Feast yourself at the pictures and let me know how you get on.
