Chapter 30

Peggy’s Surprise

JIM DECIDED IT WOULD BE best to let the weekend play out with no interference from him. Besides, he had a “hot date” Saturday afternoon anyway. They had planned to see some of the area around Blue Ridge Lake and he was looking forward to the drive, but not as much as he was craving Peggy’s touch.

About 2:00 p.m. Peggy parked in the lot across from the post office. It wasn’t much of a parking area, just an empty lot with a token amount of gravel only used by post office customers when normal spaces were taken up. That happened only a couple of times a month. Jim watched her park from the bench in front of the post office. He had been too impatient to wait inside. It also gave him an opportunity to watch Mr. Bob’s house.

Peggy quickly covered the distance from her car to the bench. They embraced each other as if it had been years since their last touch. It was as if the past week of separation had never happened. He had never experienced the miracle of togetherness before.

Peggy took up her conversation from last week as if the six days in between hadn’t happened.

“My shy boy, I have a gift for you, but it can wait until later.”

“Why did you tell me now then?”

“I thought I would tease you like you did me with the rose.”

“Oh, is it sexual?”

“It could be, but you will just have to wait.”

“You’re having fun, aren’t you?”

“Not as much fun as you had with the rose, but I’m trying.”

“What’s the plan?”

“Which side of the lake do you want to see first?”

“I’m not sure. You make the call.”

“Okay, I want you all to myself today, so let’s go on the south side.”

“That’s fine with me.”

“You can see the place we went parking on our first date. It looks different in the daytime.”

“I wouldn’t know. I wasn’t looking at the scenery that night.”

Peggy laughed. “But you found my girdle.”

He didn’t know why, but he blushed.

While still laughing Peggy said: “I sure do love my shy guy. Let’s go.”

Quickly she went into her tour guide role. She took the same paved road she had taken to Harry’s Steak House. As she made a sharp turn to the left she asked: “Do you remember dead man’s curve?”

“Yeah. I remember it, it looks worse in the day time.”

Shortly she turned right onto a dirt road. Pointing up the paved road, she said: “Harry’s is up that way about a mile and a half.”

She followed the dirt road until the lake came into view.

“That’s Dry Branch Cove. See that small road on the right?”

“Yeah.”

“Well, that’s Jim and Peggy’s parking spot.”

The road curved back into the woods. He was no longer able to see the lake. After about twenty minutes the road again lead them back to the lake. “They call this cove: Snake Nations.

“Does it have a lot of snakes?”

“I don’t think so. I’m not sure how they came up with the name. Maybe in the past it did have snakes.”

The road they were on joined a better-maintained road. This is Aska Road. If you turn right, it will take you back to Blue Ridge. She turned left and for the next ten miles or so they went through beautiful mountain farms.

Without warning the road turned back to the left and led to a long metal bridge with large planks as the floor. “That’s Shallowford Bridge. It crosses the Toccoa River. It’s the same river that goes by Hogback. If it’s okay with you, we will turn around here. If we cross the bridge we will be on the north side of the lake. Would you like to see it?”

“Not really. I would much rather look at you.”

“Good answer. Let’s go home. You still have a gift to open.”

“I had forgotten about that!”

“I bet. Remember we never lie to one another.”

“I’m sorry. Truthfully, that has been all I can think about.”

“Great! Let’s get home.”

As usual, when the car stopped in the parking lot they would almost run up the stairs and when the door closed they began tearing at each other’s clothes. All at once Peggy yelled: “Stop! Wait!”

It scared Jim. “ I’m so sorry!”

“No, no, you didn’t do anything wrong. I just left your gift in the car!”

“Thank God! You scared me to death. I thought I had done something wrong.”

“Let me get your gift and you will see that you have done something really, really right. While I’m gone why don’t you run me a hot bath? Could you do that?”

“Trust me. I think I can handle that.”

She returned with a small box. Before giving it to him she opened it and took out a small bottle then handed it to him.

“You need this now.”

He read the label and smiled. It was a bottle of bubble bath. He poured half the bottle into the steaming bath water. While his attention was on the bubble bath, she removed all her clothes. “Are you ready for your gift?”

“You?”

“No. Not now, maybe later. Shy guy, ever since our first night of lovemaking, I cannot stop wanting you to play with me. There is no way I can tell you how special the rose was, then and always. One time you commented how long and thick my pubic hair was. Well, tonight you can fix that. Look in the box.”

He opened the box. Smiling he pulled out shaving cream and a razor.

“Can I trust you not to cut me?”

Jim smiled: “I’ll be extra careful. I couldn’t afford something to go wrong!”

True to his word, he was careful and slow. It took him almost an hour to complete the task. Two times he had to add hot water to the bath. When he finished they could not stand any more foreplay and both worked the towel to get her dry and into bed.

After a couple of hours he whispered: “So you like for me to play with you, huh?”

“Oh no! I’ve created a monster”? she groaned.
