CHAPTER 73
Tbilisi, Georgia

Monday early evening

The phone rang on John Evans desk.

“Mr. Ganley! We were starting to get worried, is everything okay?

“Yes, everything’s fine, I apologize, but we were under the strictest orders to keep our whereabouts secret for the duration of the negotiation. I take it that the CIA has left the area?”

“Well, they did leave, and then they came back again.”

“What? What the hell did they come back for?”

“Apparently some terrorist arms dealer tracked them from Azerbaijan back to here, and they seem just as worried now, if not more so, then they were when they first got here.”

“See that, now you know why I don’t like them coming around, trouble follows them wherever they go. Could you get me in touch with them right now?”

“I’m afraid not, they’re observing communication silence and said they’ll call in if they need anything.”

“When they call in, you tell them that I need something, I need to know what the hell is going on.”

“I’ll tell them that, sir.”

“We’ll be in the office in fifteen minutes, when they call in I’ll tell them myself.”

“Has my father been around?”

“Yes, he came over again and took the bus up to the cathedral right before we locked down the Embassy.”

“Why did we need a lock down?”

“The CIA said that the terrorist knows that they were here.”

“Did the CIA happen to say what the name of the terrorist was?”

“No, or if they did, it didn’t register with me.”

“If they call in before I get back, tell them that I need his name, maybe I could look into his background and put some pressure on his government, that is, if he has one.”

“Very well, sir, will there be anything else?”

“No, we’ll see you shortly.”
