CHAPTER 41
Tbilisi, Georgia

Saturday late afternoon

Ella Mamedov was dressed in a plain dress as she finished checking up on Vano and Zurab. Vano fell asleep as soon as he got back from visiting Zurab at the cathedral, and Zurab ate supper and fell asleep exhaustedly when he got home. Ella actually felt some pity for the two men who were literally working two jobs on less than five hours sleep, but business was business.

She walked down Rustaveli Avenue window shopping and looking for a nice restaurant or diner where a single woman could dine alone, and not call attention to her self. Even though she had her hair in a bun and no makeup, her natural beauty still made her stand out. She found a quaint little restaurant bar, went inside, but soon became uncomfortable when some of the men at the bar stared at her. She decided instead to order some food to take up to the hotel.

She got to the room and the minute she sat down to eat a relaxing meal her cell phone rang.

On the other end of the call, Tariq Amin was calling from his cave in Ismailly, Azerbaijan.

“Ella, we’ve been trying to reach you and Tafar all day, is Tafar with you?”

“No, Tariq, he’s on his way to Ismailly to help you with the shipment from Abdula.”

“When did he leave?”

“Early this morning,” Ella replied, “Is there a problem?”

“Yes,” Amin said fretfully, “The shipment out of Batumi was captured by the American CIA.”

“Damn, Tafar was just there last night,” Ella said, grateful that he wasn’t caught too. She quickly peeked out the window to see if she could spot anyone that might be watching her room. She then searched her mind for an excuse to use if Tariq asked where she was.”

“If you hear from Tafar, tell him to keep a watchful eye, we think that maybe the CIA followed Abdula and his shipment to Ismailly,” Amin said.

“Of course, Tariq, that is why Tafar has me following a day behind him,” she said, thankful that she came up with a good excuse.

“That’s good, I feel much better now.”

“Relax, Tariq, you know that Tafar could spot a spy ten miles away, everything will be fine, you’ll see.”
