“Pluto’s Plight”

THE ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY FROM THE SCI-FI COMEDY MOVIE

PREFACE
"Ed Wood for Inspiration"

Originally published by The Piker Press Literary Journal

While living in New York City in my early twenties I didn’t have two nickels to rub together. It was classic Dickens, in that, “It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.” Money and food were scarce, and I typically spent most nights at home watching reruns on Nickelodeon. Okay, I admit it, watching reruns of the “Jeffersons” and “The Wonder Years” isn’t something to brag about, but what was a penniless inspiring broke filmmaker in New York to do? Having dinner was a cause for celebration; it wasn’t like I could afford Broadway tickets. One April evening in 1999, I rented the Tim Burton film, “Ed Wood”, starring Johnny Depp. This film celebrates the life and art of the late Edward D. Wood Jr. It’s probably hard for some people to fathom how an individual voted as the worst movie director of all time, could be an inspiration to someone interested in making movies. Well, the late Edward D. Wood Jr. had that effect on me. Mr. Burton’s film changed my life. It lit a fire under me. Is Ed Wood films as bad as people say they’re? No, they’re actually worse, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he was able to achieve his vision by making his own movies. In the 1950’s that was no small order, especially when you consider easily accessible consumer style Mini DV cameras didn’t exist yet. The passion Mr. Wood exhibited for his films was evident, albeit in a charming lackluster way. What I took from Mr. Wood’s passion is that not everyone is going to like your work. Sure, we all want others to like what we create, but that shouldn’t be the main reason why you do it in the first place. As an artist you owe yourself more than that. After watching “Ed Wood”, it became clear to me that I needed to focus more on my own passion for telling stories, and didn’t need New York City for that. My goal was to eventually move back to Ohio to be closer to family anyway, so the timing was perfect to move home and get started writing my first screenplay.

When I started to come up with ideas for a script, the one thing I felt compelled to do was write something that had never been done before. I felt this would help with finding distribution down the road. I’ve always been a fan of science fiction. I enjoyed watching reruns of the original Star Trek series as a kid. My favorite genre of film is comedy though, so with my love for both comedy and science fiction it occurred to me that there hadn’t been a lot of science fiction comedies made. Sure, I could list some here like you could, but think about it, has there really been a lot of science fiction comedies made? I think not. Anyway, I knew I didn’t want to go with a Mars theme; Mr. Burton already beat me to that with “Mars Attacks.” There was a film in the 1950’s that came to mind about women from Venus. Mercury just didn’t interest me. I started thinking about the other planets in our Solar System, and the rest were all gaseous with the exception of Pluto. As soon as I thought of Pluto I was completely sold on the concept. As far as I knew my script would be the only movie every made that centered on Planet Pluto; at least in a science fiction comedy film. In addition to writing something I felt was original, I also knew it would be helpful to get someone with name recognition to appear in my film. Knowing Brad Pitt, and Julia Roberts were already committed elsewhere, I still wanted to find a celebrity to create some buzz for my film. Former world heavyweight boxing champ, James Buster Douglas is from Columbus, Ohio, and still had a home outside of Columbus from what I had read. Buster shocked the world back in 1990 when he beat Mike Tyson silly for the world heavyweight boxing championship in Tokyo. Would he consider being in an independent film like mine? Well, I was anxious to find out and set my sights on trying to get in touch with him. Getting in touch with the former heavyweight champion of the world was a lot harder than I thought it would be. It wasn’t a big surprise that he wasn’t listed in the phone book, but I kept coming up with dead ends when trying to locate him. For awhile, I actually gave up on the idea. Then it happened! I met someone who knew a friend of a friend of his, and the rest as they say is history. Buster as it turned out, had been interested in acting for sometime. I actually fought Buster a few times myself. Oh not in the ring thank God, but my little Brother had Buster Douglas Boxing on Sega when I was in high school. Meeting someone in person that I fought against in a video game was pretty damn cool and a little surreal at first. Once I met Buster it was hard to believe this was the same guy who beat Mike Tyson to a pulp. Buster is one of the nicest, most down to earth people I have ever met. I will always be thankful to Buster for appearing in my little opus, and will always consider him a friend. Because of Buster’s participation, I was able to get my no budget film press in Sports Illustrated twice, USA Today, and on ESPN to name just a few. That success still cracks me up to this day. I still haven’t made a dime on the movie, but it has been shown at science fiction conventions across the world, and has been viewed by thousands of people on Cinemanow. I think that would have made Ed Wood proud. Who knows, maybe Pluto’s Plight will be coming to a local public access station near you someday. If you ever watch Pluto’s Plight I hope you enjoy it.

“Pluto’s Plight”

(Opening scene) 1

A spaceship is traveling in space. All appears fine, when unexpectedly the ship is struck by an asteroid. The ship is then forced to crash-land on a little planet. As it turns out, this planet is Pluto. After the ship crashes, the audience will be given a written message as to who was on the ship, and where they were intending to go. It will read as follows:

A race of alien beings, forced to leave their solar system because their star was going to Supernova, were scouting out the Universe for a new home. They discovered a little planet that would accommodate their needs, and provide a promising future for their race. This little planet is better known as Earth! After crash-landing on Pluto, the aliens knew this planet would always be an unsuitable environment. It would never provide them with the necessities they would need to survive, let alone prosper. With Pluto having very little resources to fix their ship, the aliens would be marooned on this icy rock in space for several hundred years. Just about the time their ship was finally repaired, they accidentally sent out a distress signal; this signal was picked up on Earth.

Scene 2

(Is an exterior shot of Wright Patterson Air Force Base – Dayton, Ohio)

Scene 3

(Inside the military installation - a young military Airman is monitoring a weird disturbance on his radar screen)

Airman - “Hmm, that’s odd! Sir, can you come here for a second?”

Air Force Major - (Goes to see what the Airman needs) “Yes Airman, what is it?”

Airman - “Well sir, for about (He looks at his watch) the last six minutes there have been glitches on my screen. But these are on a frequency and pattern I’ve never seen before.”

Air Force Major - “Why did you wait six minutes to tell someone?”

Airman - “Well sir, I thought it might be part of our new computer system upgrade. A lot of people around base have been having problems.”

Air Force Major - (Knows it’s something more) “That’s fine Airman! I’ll take care of it from here. You take the rest of the afternoon off.”

Airman - (Surprised) “Yes Sir!” (He exits the room)

Scene 4

(The Major looks behind his shoulder to make sure the Airman is gone, then picks up a telephone)

Air Force Major - “Yes, this is Major Stevens, get me the Pentagon.”

Scene 5

(Is an exterior shot of the Pentagon)

Scene 6

(A bunch of military brass is assembled in a conference room)

**General - “Now gentleman, (short pause) for me to take this any further I want to see proof. (Pounds the table with his fist) And I mean hard evidence. I’m not going to call the President of the United States, if all I have to go on is speculations.”

Colonel - “Sir, the proof is undeniable. The signals that were picked up at Wright Patterson were also monitored at Langley.”

**General - “Do you realize what you’re saying? Contact from other beings outside of our own world!”

Major Stevens - “General, what we found to be most surprising is that it’s coming from our own Solar System.”

**General - (puzzled) “Where?”

(The Colonel and Major look at each other)

Colonel - “Pluto sir!”

**General - (Flabbergasted) “Pluto!”

Major Stevens - “Sir, we know very little about that part of our Solar System.”

Colonel - “Hell, the Hubbell Telescope has yet to give us real clear photos of Pluto, or its moon Charon.”

**General - “Gentleman, the last time I heard Pluto was small and extremely cold. (Short pause) Now you tell me, given that information, what possible kind of intelligent life could the planet have?”

Colonel - “We don’t know General. We have some of our best scientists at Langley trying to decode their messages. But until we decipher those we have no way of knowing anything about them, or what their intentions are.”

(Cut to **General who has a look of concern on his face)

Scene 7

After a fadeout, a catchy musical score will begin. While the music is playing, the film will show Earth in a master shot from space. A journey through our Solar System will then ensue - (Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and last but certainly not least, Pluto) Once we reach Pluto the song will be at its highlight and end. Now the audience will be introduced to Planet Pluto)

Scene 8

(On Planet Pluto, a bunch of Plutonian Soldiers are discussing whether or not to attack Earth)

Pluspan - (Plutonian Military Leader) "Gentlemen, we’re at a crossroads. Should we attack, or shouldn’t we?"

Plumock - "Pluspan, we’ve been involved in many bloody conflicts throughout our history, and I can’t think of a time when anyone was better off because of war."

Plumar - (Pluspan’s right hand man) (Angrily) "We don’t have a choice anymore. This planet is nothing more than a frozen rock in space. The fact that our people have survived is a miracle in itself. But we’ve pretty much tapped out all of the limited resources this planet has to offer. We’ve been over all the other planets in this solar system at least a million times. We can’t go out venturing into space. Our ship probably couldn’t withstand it, and you know it. Earth is the only viable solution."

Plumock - “So how long have you considered yourself an invader?”

Plumar - “Never, I consider myself a survivor.”

Pluspan - “Gentlemen please! I understand both of your frustrations. But this is how I see it; I love Pluto, it’s the only home I’ve ever known. But it’s colder than a witch’s titty here. It’s 87 degrees in Miami right now. But if we just showed up and said here we are and this is our problem, what kind of reaction do you think we would get out of their governments and people? They can’t even get along with themselves. But if we go in with an all out attack, it would be quick and painless for them. If not, we put ourselves in jeopardy.”

Plumock - (Shaking his head reluctantly) “I guess you guys are right.”

Pluspan - "Of course we are Plumock! My friends, it’s now only a matter of time before we will be living it up on Planet Earth."

(Pluspan begins to laugh hysterically - once Pluspan starts laughing the rest of the Plutonian’s laugh as well – the only one not laughing is Plumock. The Plutonian’s all stop laughing at the exact time, and then snort in unison. Plumock is not amused and shakes his head)

Scene 9

(Meanwhile back on Earth, a young girl, Stephanie Cline, is sitting at her kitchen table doing her Astronomy homework - her father is preparing dinner)

Stephanie - “Daddy, do you believe in aliens?”

Mr. Cline - “I’m sorry honey, what?”

Stephanie - “Do you think we’re alone in the Universe?”

Mr. Cline - "Well, I don’t know, it’s a pretty big Universe. I’d say there is a good chance we’re not. What do you think?"

Stephanie - "I think there has to be. I know there aren’t Martians, but yeah, somewhere; there has to be." (Cut back to Dad who smiles)

Scene 10

(The **General & Colonel are in the General’s office. They are discussing their options on whether to go public with what they know)

Colonel - "General, we have to go public with this. We have to consider the surprise factor. People could really freak out if they start seeing, or hearing things."

**General - "I know what you say makes sense, but think about this: If our government lets the public know we’ve been contacted by aliens, people may think it’s the end of the world. Some people may think that this proves their religion to be wrong. We could have mass suicides on our hands. Remember when people started raiding grocery stores, because of Y2K? (Cut to Colonel shaking his head yes and then back to the General who is finishing his comment) I wouldn’t want to even imagine how bad things like that could get. I mean, there’s no telling where this could go. Ultimately, it will be the President’s decision. And for God sake, I hope he makes the right one."

Scene 11

(A family is watching TV in their living room - a TV anchor interrupts their program with a special bulletin)

TV Anchor - "Good Evening! We interrupt our normally scheduled programming to bring you the following important message. We have just been informed that the President of the United States will be addressing the nation in approximately one minute. We haven’t been told what the President’s speech will be about. We were however, informed that it is very important, and that all Americans should listen very carefully.

(While the TV Anchor is speaking additional scenes of people taking notice of the special bulletin will be shown)

Okay, we’re now going live to the President of the United States."

Scene 12

The President of the United States - “Good evening! My fellow Americans, as your President, I never thought that I would be addressing you on the following subject matter. And it is with great excitement that I do. Yesterday, at 2:43 Eastern Standard Time, our best scientists working at secluded sites for the government, received messages from a species that is not of this Earth. I realize that this is a lot to take in. However, I felt it was best to allow you all to absorb the significance of these events. As more information becomes available, you will be informed with the greatest accuracy as to what, if anything is to come of this historic event. What we know so far is that our question has finally been answered; are we alone in the Universe? The answer is no, we are not. Let’s take this time to pray for the best, and hope that this is the beginning of new possibilities for all Americans, and every human on Earth. Thank you for watching, and God bless the United States of America.”

Scene 13

(The family from scene 11 reacts to the Presidents speech)

Son - (Frustrated) "What! He didn’t tell us where they are from. He didn’t even tell us if they’re nice or not."

Dad - "They may not know yet Jimmy."

Mom - "What do you think Jack?"

Dad - (With a serious look on his face) "I don’t know, but I think it would be best if we go up to mom and dad’s farmhouse until we do."

Scene 14

(Meanwhile back on Pluto, the Plutonian news is being broadcast)

Plutonian Weatherman - "Tomorrow we can expect very cloudy skies, with the high reaching 237 degrees below zero. As always, icy conditions exist, so take it a little easy on your way into work. Stay tuned, and I’ll have my complete five day forecast for you. Pludette!”

Pludette - "Thanks Plurry! Now for today’s top story- the president has stated our mission to Earth could begin in a matter of days; exactly what approach we are going to take has not yet been determined, according to Pluspan, leader of military intelligence."

Scene 15

Pluspan - (Being interviewed by Plutonian reporters) "When we are clear on our objectives and mission, the Plutonian people will be addressed by the president."

Plutonian Reporter - "Do you think the timing of this mission has anything to do with the president’s personal problems?"

Pluspan -"Absolutely not! Thank you!"

(Pluspan walks away from the interview - as he walks away, reporters will still be asking him questions)

Pludette - "Plack!"

Plack - "Thanks Pludette! And now for a developing story; we were just informed that the president is about to address the nation, and we are told that he might, and underline might, admit he had an affair with Ice House Intern, Monica Pluninsky. Okay, the president is coming on, so we’re taking you there live."

Scene 16

Plutonian President - "Good evening! I’m standing before you tonight in the map room. The same room that as you know, I gave my deposition testimony in yesterday. That is something that no Plutonian would ever want to do. Indeed, I did have a relationship with Ms. Pluninsky that was inappropriate. In fact, it was wrong. It constituted bad judgment on my part. I misled people, including even my wife. I deeply regret that! Too many people have been hurt. And now it’s time to move on and put this behind us. This is now between me, God and my family. I will do everything in my power to gain back their trust. Thank you for watching and may God bless the Plutonian People."

Scene 17

(Pluspan is discussing the mission to Earth with Plumar, and Plumock)

Pluspan - “I’ve just put all of our men on alert.”

Plumar - “Well, this is it!”

Pluspan - “Yeah, this is it!”

Plumock - “So what’s our strategy with all of this?”

Plumar - “What do you mean?”

Plumock - “Well, are we going to have an all out attack, or are we going to take a more laid-back approach?”

Pluspan - “What do you mean by laid-back, Plumock?”

Plumock - "Well sir, obviously if we go in with our fist up they’ll know we came to fight. But if we go in and take a placid approach, we would meet with little or no resistance. I mean, (short pause) they wouldn’t know what was going on."

Plumar - "For the first time since I’ve known you Plumock, I agree with you."

Plumock - "You do?"

Plumar -"Yeah, in fact, we thought it would be a bad idea to even target their large cities."

Plumock - "Well, what are we going to target?"

Pluspan - "Just a small little town; perhaps a modest sized city, and we’ve decided to use the plusarian effect. Once it’s dispersed in the air, the aging process will begin. And within six weeks time every human on Earth will be dead from old age."

Plumock - "That’s sounds a little inhuman."

Pluspan - "Well, one thing is for sure; it’s going to be in humans."(Pluspan let out an evil laugh)

Plumock - (Shakes his head)

Plumar - "Keep in mind Plumock, if we were to go in there and destroy them all we would pretty much have to destroy Earth."

Pluspan - "Yes, and if we do that what’s the point of making Earth our new home?"

Plumock - "So dropping Plutonium is out?"

Pluspan - "Absolutely!"

Plumock - "Well, that’s good to hear."

Pluspan - "Gentleman, I suggest you spend the rest of the evening with your families. We leave first thing tomorrow morning."

Plumar & Plumock - (In unison) "Yes sir!" (They exit the room)

Scene 18

(After Plumar & Plumock exit, Pluspan holds his stomach, and passes gas)

Scene 19

(A close up will show Pluspan’s hand reaching for a bottle of Pluto-Bismol)

Scene 20

(Plumock enters his home, and is greeted by his wife, Plammy. They engage in the traditional Plutonian Greeting - this consists of flipping their fingers and then waving their hands over their heads)

Scene 21

Plammy - "So how was your day dear?"

Plumock -"Very exhausting!"

Plammy - "Well, it’s been all over the news that we’re attacking Earth."

Plumock - "What exactly did they say?"

Plammy - "Well, the president admitted he had an affair."

Plumock - "About Earth honey?"

Plammy - "Oh, well it was pretty vague. It was only about thirty seconds long. They said that we may be leaving for Earth in a matter of days."

Plumock - "Well, it’s true! In fact, that’s what I was getting ready to tell you. Plammy, I leave for Earth in the morning."

Plammy - "Tomorrow! Why are you just telling me this now?"

Plumock - "You know the kind of work I do. Besides, I didn’t expect it to be this soon. (Short pause) And I just found out this evening."

(Plammy has her hands over her face – Plumock attempts to comfort her)

Plumock - "Please don’t cry dear. The trip to Earth only takes six days. I’ve been informed that our mission shouldn’t take longer than a month or so. Before you know it, I’ll be back for you. Then we’ll be leaving for good to start our new life on Earth."

Plammy - (upset) "What if something goes wrong?"

Plumock - "Don’t worry everything is going to be fine." (They embrace)

Scene 22

(Pluspan will be addressing a large group of Plutonian Soldiers)

Pluspan - "My friends, I’ve never enjoyed long speeches, so I’ll keep this short and to the point. If circumstances were different we wouldn’t be doing this. We simply don’t have a choice. So always remember that; keep your families in mind, (then sarcastically) and of course the warmer Earth weather."

(Pluspan begins to laugh hysterically - once Pluspan starts laughing the rest of the Plutonian’s start to laugh in unison with him. They all stop laughing at the exact time and then snort in unison)

Scene 23

(F-16’s fighter jets are shown patrolling the sky)

Scene 24

(The **General & Colonel are talking in the General’s office)

**General - "Colonel our pilots are to stay on alert until I say otherwise."

Colonel - "Yes sir!"

**General - "I don’t want to sound melodramatic, but I feel with everything that has transpired lately, (Short pause) that’s its best to be a little, oh I don’t know, overly cautious."

Colonel - "I agree General. It’s better to be safe than sorry."

**General - "Well, that’s what being in the Armed Forces is all about. You have to be prepared for anything at all times. Especially for something as far out as this! Let’s just hope for the best."

(The Colonel nods his head in agreement)

Scene 25

(Back on Planet Pluto, there will be a bunch of Plutonian women, & children waving good-bye to the soldiers – “the Plutonian way” - they flip their fingers and then wave their hands over their heads- the soldiers return the Plutonian greeting back to them. The Plutonian Soldiers will then walk toward their ship – they walk single file, and will be doing a Plutonian war dance. As the last Plutonian enters the ship, this scene will end with another shot of the women & children waving good-bye)

Scene 26

(Inside the Plutonian ship - on the bridge)

Pluspan - "Are the thrusters functional?"

Plutonian soldier - "Yes, sir they are!"

Pluspan - "Then take us to Earth."

(Pluspan starts laughing and then all of the men on the bridge begin to laugh with him)

Scene 27

(The Plutonian ship lifts off the surface of Pluto - as the ship is taking off the sound of the Plutonian’s laughing can be heard. As usual, the Plutonian’s will all stop laughing at the exact same time, and then snort in unison)

Scene 28

(Stephanie is in her 7th grade Astronomy class)

Teacher - (Smiling) "Okay, who knows? (A lot of students raise their hands – the teacher points to Stephanie) Stephanie!"

Stephanie - "Pluto!"

Teacher - "That’s right Stephanie; very good. (The teacher writes Pluto on the chalkboard) Pluto is the ninth Planet from the Sun; sometimes the eighth."

A Girl in the classroom - "Why’s that?"

Teacher - "Well, Neptune and Pluto alternate in who’s farthest from the sun. But it’s usually Pluto. Neptune’s out farther for only twenty years at a time, while Pluto is farther out for cycles that last for over two hundred years."

Tommy (Boy in classroom) - "Is Pluto the coldest planet?"

Teacher - "Yes, Tommy. Pluto’s average temperature is not well known, but it’s figured to be between -228 to -238 Celsius on average."

Tommy - "That’s pretty cold!"

Teacher - (Smiles) "Yeah, Tommy it is."

Stephanie - "Is there life on Pluto, Mrs. Wilson?" (Mrs. Wilson and the entire class laugh at Stephanie’s question)

Teacher - "No Stephanie, there’s no life on Pluto." (Stephanie responds to the laughter by looking down out of embarrassment)

Scene 29

(After Stephanie looks down in scene 28, a quick cut to scene 29 will show the Plutonian ship heading toward Earth)

Scene 30

(Inside the Plutonian ship)

Plumar - (Asks the helmsman) "How much longer until we reach Earth?"

Plutonian Soldier - "At present speed, three days, two hours sir."

Plumar - "Excellent! (Plumar walks over to confer with Pluspan, and Plumock) Well, in 74 hours our mission will be over."

Plumock - "In 74 hours we’ll reach Earth, but our mission will just be beginning."

(Plumar has a smirk on his face, and shakes his head to Pluspan as Plumock exits the bridge)

Scene 31

(Jack & his family arrive at his parent’s farmhouse. His parents greet him and his family as they get out of the car)

Jack’s Dad - "Hi ya son!"

Jack’s Mom - "It’s good to see you honey."

Jack - "Thanks mom. It’s good to see the both of you.” (He hugs his parents)

Jack’s Dad - "How was the trip?"

Jack - "Smooth, any new developments on the news?"

Jack’s Dad – “No, nothing new.”

Jack’s Mom - "Jack, we’re glad you decided to come here. Hi Jimmy. (She hugs Jimmy and Carole) Carole, you look great."

Carole – (To Jack’s parents) "So do you two."

(Jack and his dad go off by themselves to talk)

Jack’s Dad - "Well Jack, what do you think about all of this?"

Jack - "I don’t know Dad. This may be the start of some fantastic possibilities for all of us. I’m trying to be optimistic, but I guess it’s only natural to have some fears too."

Jack’s Dad - "Well, I guess only time will tell. Let’s go inside; your mother cooked up a great dinner."

Scene 32

(Tommy is knocking on the front door of Stephanie’s home)

Scene 33

(Stephanie’s mother answers the door)

Tommy - "Hello Mrs. Cline. Is Stephanie home?"

Mrs. Cline - "Hi Tommy. Sure, just one second. I’ll get her for you, but let me put the dog up first."

(Mrs. Cline puts the dog up while Tommy waits outside)

Scene 34

Mrs. Cline - (She opens the front door) "Come on in Tommy."

Tommy - "Thanks Mrs. Cline."

Mrs. Cline - "It’s good to see you. How’s school been going for you?"

Tommy - "Pretty good."

Mrs. Cline - "Well, that’s good to hear. Stephanie should be right down. She’s just cleaning out her hamster’s cage. Can I get you something to drink?"

Tommy - "No, I’m fine thank you."

Mrs. Cline - "Okay! (She hears something & looks up - Stephanie is walking down the stairs) There she is now."

Scene 35

Stephanie - "Thanks mom! Hi Tommy! How are you?"

Tommy - "Good thanks! I wanted to stop by real quick to talk to you about class today."

Mrs. Cline - "Well, I’ll leave you two alone so you can talk. It was good seeing you again Tommy."

Tommy - "You too Mrs. Cline."

Stephanie - "Thanks Mom."

Mrs. Cline - "Sure honey!" (She exits the room)

Scene 36

Stephanie - "So, what about class today?"

Tommy - "Well, in Mrs. Wilson’s class earlier today, we talked about the planets."

Stephanie - (curiously) "Yeah, so!"

Tommy - "Well, I just wanted you to know that asking about Pluto wasn’t a silly question."

Stephanie - "You mean about life on Pluto?"

Tommy - "Yeah!"

Stephanie - "Why do you say that?"

Tommy - "Well, I didn’t think it was very nice when everyone laughed at you."

Stephanie - "Well, thanks Tommy. (Shrugs her shoulders) But I don’t care what they think. Maybe it’s just a hunch, but we’re entitled to our opinions aren’t we?"

Tommy - "Yeah!" (they both chuckle)

Scene 37

(F-16 Fighter Planes are shown doing acrobatic maneuvers)

Scene 38

1st Pilot - "Hey Jackson, are you getting ready to take her out?"

Jackson - "Here in a few. What about you?"

1st Pilot - "I just finished. You know, I’ve spent more time in my jet lately than I have at home."

Jackson - "I hear you! I saw our flight schedule for the upcoming week; busy, busy."

1st Pilot - "Tomorrow we start group training."

Jackson - "It will be interesting to see what we’ll be doing next."

1st Pilot - "Yeah, well, catch you later Jackson."

Jackson - "Catch you later, Stan."

Scene 39

(The **General is looking out the window in his office)

Scene 40

(Shows what the General sees from scene 39 - An F-16 Jet is about ready to take-off)

Scene 41

(The **General is still looking out his window – The next part of this scene shows the F-16 Jet taking off)

**General - "I hope these exercises are just that; exercises. I’ve served my country for 31 years, and I’ve seen my share of combat missions. But this scares me, because I don’t know what we may be up against. I just hope nothing comes out of this Freddy."

(The Colonel- Freddy nods and when cutting back to the General he has a look of concern on his face)

Scene 42

(Inside the Plutonian ship)

Plutonian Soldier - "Planet Earth; two minutes, sir."

Plumar - "Good, we’re probably already being probed by their satellites. Activate the plutogo."

Plutonian Soldier - "Yes sir!" (He activates the plutogo)

Scene 43

(The Plutonian Ship disappears from view)

Scene 44

(Inside the Plutonian Ship)

Plutonian Soldier - "Sir, we’re about to enter Earth’s orbit."

Plumar - "Go ahead and fly her manually."

Plutonian Soldier - "Yes sir!"

Plumock - (Goes over to Plumar) "Well, we’re here."

Plumar - "Yeah, it’s about time."

Plumock - "Well, I thought the trip went pretty fast."

Plumar - "Not fast enough!"

Plumock - "You’re in a hurry to wipe these Earthlings out, aren’t you?"

Plumar - (With a frustrated tone) "No, I’m in a hurry to make this our new home. There’s a difference Plumock!"

Plumock - "Yeah, well the results are still the same."

(As Plumock walks away, a close-up shot shows Plumar with a look of frustration on his face)

Scene 45

(A young Air force Airman is walking down a hallway - he approaches the **General’s office and knocks on the door - the Airman is carrying a top secret envelope which the camera will show in a close up as he knocks on the door)

Scene 46

**General (He hears the knock on the door) "Come in!"

Young Air force Airman - "Excuse me Sir; I was told to hand deliver this to you. It’s from General McCalister’s office."

**General - "Thank you son."

Young Air force Airman - "You’re welcome, sir." (He exits the General’s office)

Scene 47

**General - (He opens the envelope and looks at the enclosed photos)

"Well, we thought this might be coming. (He shows the Colonel the photos)

These are photos that our satellites recorded earlier this morning."

Colonel - "Oh my God, they’re here!"

**General - "They’re here! The question is what are their intentions? One thing is for sure, we better find out fast."

Scene 48

(Plumar is walking up to Plumock’s quarters - he touches the door, and it makes a funny noise)

Plumock - "Come in!"

Scene 49

Plumar - (Enters Plumock’s quarters)

Plumock - (In an annoyed tone) "Oh Plumar! What can I do for you?"

Plumar - (In a disgusted tone) "Plumock, (Short Pause) it’s no secret we’ve had our differences, and I know you don’t like me. But I’m your superior officer. You don’t have to like me, but you better believe in what we’re doing, and what we’re trying to accomplish here. I’m not going to tolerate anymore of your comments, or remarks; especially on the bridge, and in front of the men. You’re an officer. You’re supposed to lead by example. Now if you can’t, I’ll find someone else who can. Do I make myself clear?"

Plumock - (In a sarcastic tone) "Yeah!"

Plumar - "Good!" (He turns around & exits Plumock’s quarters)

Plumock - (He walks over to the other side of the room - he lets out a deep breath and shakes his head)

Scene 50

(An overhead shot will show Plumar and Pluspan sitting at a table in Pluspan’s quarters)

Scene 51

Pluspan - "Do you really believe it’s that serious Plumar?"

Plumar - "Sir, I’m telling you, Plumock should be relieved from duty. I’ve always known his heart wasn’t in this, but I’m really starting to have my doubts; to the point where I think he could seriously jeopardize our mission. (Short pause) So, what do you think we should do?"

Pluspan- "I’ve had my doubts about whether Plumock’s heart is truly in this too, but I realized it’s not going to a problem for us. In fact, it’s going to be a great asset."

Plumar - "What do you mean?"

Pluspan - "Let me explain! One way to help implement our plan is to have an alternate plan."

Plumar - (Dumbfounded) "An alternate plan! What do you mean?"

Pluspan - "Well, if we let Plumock believe we’re going to make peace with the Earthlings, he won’t have any reason to be so bent out of shape."

Plumar - "Yeah, but do you think that will work?"

Pluspan - "Oh, I know it will work, because I know Plumock." (Pluspan laughs and snorts)

Scene 52

**General - (The General is in his office - the phone rings, and he answers it)

"Hello, this is General Estle. Yes, my god; when? Okay, I’ll tell my officers, and get back to you right away. (The General hits a button on his desk) Katie, have my officers meet me in conference room A in five minutes tops."

Katie - (Voice of Katie) "Will do General."

Scene 53

(The General and his officers are assembled in conference room A)

**General - "Well, I asked you to join me here, because I have been informed of some very important news. (Short pause) Our government has been contacted by the Plutonian’s, and I was informed that they’re here on a peaceful mission. They will be sending one of their representatives to speak with our government."

Colonel - "How did they get in touch with our government? I mean communication wise."

**General - "I don’t know Freddy."

Major Stevens - "Do they speak English?"

**General - "I don’t know the answer to that either, Major Stevens. Obviously, our government understood them, because they relayed this message to me. As far as I’m concerned, nothing has changed on our part. Our men are to be on alert status around the clock. Hopefully everything goes as it appears it will, but we still have to be prepared that it won’t."

Colonel - "I wonder how they will adapt to our planet’s temperature. I think it would be great to see their ship, and maybe even see what Pluto’s like."

Major Stevens - "I know what you mean. What kid hasn’t dreamed about those sort-of things; aliens from other planets, spaceships. I remember watching Star Trek as a kid. I always pretended I was Captain Kirk and my little brother was Scotty down in the engineering room. (Laughing) Of course, I was in the living room, and he was in the basement."

Naval Officer - "I did too! Except I always wanted to be Spock."

Major Stevens - "Spock! Why Spock?"

Naval Officer - "Because he was different, and smart as a whip."

Major Stevens - "You know, the more I think about it, they have a ship to go wherever they want. Their intentions probably aren’t hostile."

Colonel - "I’ve been thinking the same thing. They’re obviously more advanced than we are. They could have probably came in here and done away with us if they wanted to. Yet, they sent us messages, and then contacted our government. If they were out to destroy us, why would they have done all of those things?"

**General - "What you say makes perfect sense, and I hope you’re right. I was told that when they contacted our government they requested to meet with some of our officials in the very near future. I mean, we could be talking about a matter of days. In any case, well find out soon enough."

Scene 54

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Pluspan and some of his officers are discussing their mission)

Pluspan - "Well, we’re finally where we want to be. We’ve reached Earth, and we’ve contacted the Earthling’s to let them know we’re here on a (sarcastically) peaceful mission, and now we’re ready to disperse the Plusarian Effect. But, first things first; Plumock has agreed to meet with some of the Earthlings to get the pertinent information we’ll need."

Plutonian Officer - "Where is Plumock anyway?"

Pluspan - "First of all, Plumock is busy. Secondly, who do you think you are interrupting me when I’m explaining our mission?"

Plutonian Officer - "Sir, I’m sorry. I meant no disrespect."

Pluspan - "Well, it’s a little too late for that."

(Pluspan motions to a couple of the other officers to hold the Plutonian Officer down for him)

If you want to pretend to run the show that’s fine, but I think it’s time you find out who your superior officer is. (Pluspan walks to the other side of the bridge - He runs full blast toward the Plutonian Officer striking him head first in his chest area - The Plutonian Officer collapses, grasping for air - Pluspan goes back to where he was originally standing)

Now where was I? Oh yes, Plumock. Plumock will play the role of the good guy alien, out to help the Earthlings in anyway he can. We will promise to share with them all the fruits of our knowledge in exchange for information on their planet’s atmosphere. We’ll tell them we’re concerned for their safety, because of their Ozone Layer’s depletion. For the plusarian effect to be one hundred percent effective, we’ll need a complete breakdown on their atmosphere’s molecular structure. Plumock will be meeting with the Earthlings soon. We’ll keep you abreast of any further developments. This meeting is over. (All of the Plutonian Officers begin to exit the room – Pluspan motions to Plumar) Plumar, I need to speak with you in private."

Plumar - "Yes sir!"

Pluspan - (Hits a button, which summons Plumock)

Plumock - (The voice of Plumock) "Plumock!"

Pluspan - "Yes, Plumock, meet Plumar and me in the PLU Room, ASAP."

Plumock - (The voice of Plumock) "Yes, sir."

Pluspan - "Everything is proceeding just as I had foreseen."

(Pluspan starts laughing hysterically and snorts)

Scene 55

(Back at the farmhouse, Jack & his Dad are outside shooting off shotguns)

Jack - "It sure feels good to be out here in the country."

Jack’s Dad - "I think it feels better to be shooting off these guns."

Jack - (Jack and his dad both laugh) "Mom said that you already have the cellar stocked with food."

Jack’s Dad - "Yeah well, I’m ready for the worst. I’m not trusting like most people. You know that!"

Jack - "Yeah! (Short pause) I’m curious where their ship is right now."

Jack’s Dad - "You mean in the sky?"

Jack - "Yeah, hell anywhere. I mean, if they already contacted our government to meet with us then where’s their ship at?"

Jack’s Dad - "I’ve been wondering the same thing. One thing is for sure, if these aliens aren’t nice, the Harpole family will be ready for them." (Jack’s Dad reloads his gun and a close up of Jack shows him firing his weapon)

Scene 56

(The Cline family is at the dinner table having dinner)

Mrs. Cline - "More pasta honey?" (She tries to put more food on Stephanie’s plate)

Stephanie - "No thanks, Mom. I’m full."

Mrs. Cline - "Okay, honey!"

Mr. Cline - "Step, your Astronomy Teacher called me today, and said the local newspaper wants to do an article on you."

Stephanie - (Surprised & excited) "Really, what for?"

Mr. Cline - "She told me that just a few days ago you asked her if there could be life on Pluto."

Mrs. Cline - "Steph, with everything that has happened over the last couple of days that is an extraordinary coincidence."

Mr. Cline - (Laughing) "Nellie, I think our daughter may be psychic."

Mrs. Cline - "How in the world did you know that, Steph?"

Stephanie - "I don’t know. It was just something I felt." (Stephanie’s Parents smile at Stephanie and then look at each other with a curious grin)

Scene 57

(Inside the Plutonian Ship, Pluspan and Plumar are waiting for Plumock to join them in the Plu room. A funny noise indicates someone is requesting permission to enter the Plu room)

Pluspan - "Enter!" (Plumock enters the Plu room)

Plumock - "You wanted to see me sir?"

Pluspan - "Yes Plumock, have a seat."

Plumar - "How are you doing, Plumock?"

Plumock - (Plumock is surprised by Plumar’s question because he is usually cold toward him) "Fine thanks!"

Pluspan - "Plumock, we asked you here for a very important reason."

Plumock - "Really, what’s that?"

Pluspan - "Well, first of all, our mission has changed."

Plumar - "And we think you’ll like the sound of it."

Plumock - "What’s changed?"

Pluspan - "Well, we’ve decided to make peace with the Earthlings, and want you to be our peace negotiator."

Plumock - "You’re kidding, I mean that’s great; why the change in plans?"

Pluspan - "Well, peace is always the best way to go, and besides, there’s enough room here for both races."

Plumock - "This planet isn’t very big; and there are over six billion Humans on Earth. Where would we live?"

Plumar - "Stuff like that will be figured out later."

Pluspan - "Right now, we’re more concerned with the peace process. Are you interested?"

Plumock - "Of course I am! I would be proud to represent our people."

Pluspan - "We knew that you would."

(Pluspan then looks over at Plumar with a mischievous grin on his face)

Scene 58

(Back at Jack’s Parent’s farmhouse - Jack has decided to go back to the city and brings his parents with him – As they prepare to leave, Jack’s Mom and Wife plead with him and his Dad to leave their guns behind)

Carole - "Jack, you know I don’t like guns. For the sake of safety please don’t take them."

Jack - "Honey, it’s for the sake of safety that I am taking them."

Jack’s Mom - "Jack, we haven’t been given any indication that these aliens are to be feared. Last night on the evening news they said the aliens will be meeting with representatives from our government perhaps in the next day or so."

Jack’s Dad - "Barbara, at times like this you can’t take any chances. Besides, it’s not like we’re going to go out in the street, and start shooting our guns off for the fun of it. We’re taking them for protection."

Jack - "That’s right mom! I promise we won’t even take them out of the house unless we have to."

Jack’s Mom - "Well, what are you going to do Jack, shoot a hole in their spaceship?" (Jack’s mom starts laughing, as does everyone else - they all get in the car to leave for the city)

Scene 59

(The Clines are in their front yard doing yard work, when a car pulls into the next door home’s driveway - The **General and Colonel get out of the car - The **General and Colonel live across the street from one another, and are neighbors of the Clines. The Clines are also neighbors with Jack and his family)

Scene 60

(The **General & Colonel walk over to the Clines to greet them)

**General - "Hi, how’s everyone doing?"

Colonel - "Hello!"

Mrs. Cline - "Hi Fred! Hi Bob!"

Mr. Cline - "How are you guys doing this evening?"

Colonel - "Real good! How about yourself?"

Tony (Mr. Cline) - "Not too shabby; just out doing some yard work while the weather’s nice."

**General - "Tony, I couldn’t believe the article on Stephanie in the newspaper. How in the world did she have a feeling about that?"

Tony - "Your guess is as good as ours. Isn’t that crazy?"

Colonel - "Hey, tell Stephanie I want to know what tomorrows winning lottery numbers are going to be."

Mrs. Cline - "Yeah really!" (Everyone laughs)

Mr. Cline - "So, what’s the latest news guys? I’m not talking about what’s been on TV; I’m mean what’s really happening?"

Colonel - "You know as much as we do."

**General - "And if we did know more Tony, you know we couldn’t tell you." (The General chuckles)

Colonel - "Well, Marge probably has dinner on the table, so I better get going."

**General - "Yeah, me too. I’ll see you all later. Have a good night Freddy."

Freddy/Colonel - "You too, Bob."

Mrs. Cline - "Have a good night."

Mr. Cline - "We’ll see you later.”

General - (To the Clines) "Take care!"

Colonel - (To the Clines) "Have a good one!"

Scene 61

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Pluspan and Plumar are still in the Plu Room where we last left them - Plumock is no longer in the room with them - They are discussing the bogus peace negotiation that Plumock will undertake)

Pluspan - "This is actually going to be a lot easier than I ever imagined."

Plumar - "What makes you say that?"

Pluspan - "Well, Plumock is set to meet with the Earthling’s tomorrow. Once we have the read out of their planet’s molecular structure, we’ll implement our plan and that will be that."

Plumar - "I hope you’re right Sir. And I hope it’s going to be as easy as you think it’s going to be."

Pluspan - "I even added what the Earthling’s would call a (sarcastically) human touch."

Plumar - "What are you talking about?"

Pluspan - "Well, if we’re going to seem peaceful, and trusting, we’ll need to embrace one of their own."

Plumar - "Who?"

Pluspan - "One thing I’ve studied about the Earthling’s is that they’re very protective and caring toward their young. As you know, we are always monitoring the Earthlings to gain more information about them. Well, one of the men noticed a newspaper article where a little girl supposedly knew we were on Pluto, before we ever arrived here. I’m interested in knowing how the heck she knew that."

Plumar - "That’s odd, who is she?"

Pluspan – “The article said her name is Stephanie Cline."

Plumar - "If she has telepathic powers like the Mecklon’s of the Dultuffo Galaxy, she must be destroyed. She may know what we’re really trying to do here, and if she lets any of the Earthlings know it could seriously jeopardize our mission."

Pluspan - "You’re exactly right! That’s why I contacted their representatives explaining how touched we were by the story. When Plumock meets with them tomorrow, we’re requesting that the little girl be there as a sign of interstellar peace. They’re supposed to contact her family to make sure that she is there."

Plumar - "Well good!"

Pluspan - "Just relax, Plumar! Whose turn is it to lead anyway?"

Pluspan - "It’s your turn, sir."

Plumar - "Okay!" (Pluspan then leads out his hand to Plumar, and they begin to play thumb war)

Scene 62

(Inside the Clines home - the Clines will be sitting at the dinner table eating dinner - there is a knock on their front door)

Mrs. Cline - "Someone’s at the door. Let me go see who it is." (She goes to the door and looks out the peephole - she opens the door)

Scene 63

(Two men in business suits are standing on the Cline’s front porch)

Mrs. Cline - "May I help you?"

Agent Leis - "Hi Mrs. Cline, my name is Agent Leis (He shows her his credentials) and this is Agent Eggleton. We’re from the Federal Bureau of Investigations."

Mrs. Cline - "What’s the problem?"

Agent Leis - "There’s no problem, Mrs. Cline. We need to speak with you and your daughter, Stephanie."

Mr. Cline (Mr. Cline is now standing in the doorway as well) - "What’s going on here?"

Mrs. Cline - "They’re from the FBI, and want to speak with us and Steph."

Mr. Cline - "What about?"

Agent Eggleton - "Mr. Cline, we’re here to inform you with some very exciting news."

Mr. Cline (Intrigued) "Well come on in."

Agent Eggleton - "Thank you sir!"

Agent Leis - "Thank you!" (The Agents follow the Clines into their home)

Scene 64

(The Clines and agents are in the Cline’s living room - Stephanie immediately walks over from the dining room table to see what’s going on)

Stephanie - "Who are these people?"

Mr. Cline - "They work with the government honey. What it is they want has yet to be determined."

Agent Leis - "Mr. Cline, we’re here to talk to you about a very historic and exciting thing."

Mr. Cline - "What is it?"

Agent Eggleton - "Your Daughter, Stephanie!"

Stephanie - "What about me?"

Agent Leis - "Well, Stephanie, the recent article on you in the paper was more of a story than I think you or your family realize."

Mrs. Cline - "What are you saying?"

Agent Leis - "The United States Government sent us here to ask your Daughter to be one of the representatives for Planet Earth."

Mr. Cline - "That’s all?" (Agent Leis and Eggleton both laugh)

Agent Leis - "Apparently, the Plutonian’s have been studying us for some time. I mean they’re actually reading our newspapers; how, I don’t know, but they are. Anyway, they somehow came across the article on your daughter, and were very taken by it. A representative of theirs by the name of Plumock is meeting with government officials tomorrow. We were told that they would very much like your daughter to be there."

Mr. Cline - "That’s unbelievable!"

Stephanie - "Does this mean I get to go aboard their ship?"

Agent Eggleton - "I don’t think so. The meeting will be here on Earth at a secluded location. Of course, your parents are invited along to accompany you."

Agent Leis - "How’s that sound?"

Mrs. Cline - "What do you think, Steph?"

Stephanie - "I definitely want to do it."

Mrs. Cline - "Tony?"

Mr. Cline - (Smiling) "Of course, we’ll do anything we can to help."

Agent Leis - "Excellent, get any personable things you may want to take along and we’ll be on our way." (The Cline family engages in a group hug - they are very excited about meeting the aliens)

Scene 65

(The **General is looking out the window of his living room)

Mrs. Estle - "What are you looking at dear?"

**General - "I thought I heard a cat crying outside honey, but I don’t see it. Something else just caught my eye though; there’s a car parked out in front of the Clines home.”

Mrs. Estle - "What is so weird about that?"

**General - "I’m not saying it’s weird, but I recognized one of the guys who walked into their house. His name is Keith Eggleton, and he works for the FBI. I’m curious what’s going on over there. Tonight’s trash night! Maybe I’ll figure out what’s going on if I bump into Tony."

Scene 66

(The **General is standing outside of his house, and sees the Cline family and FBI Agents exiting the Cline’s home - he proceeds to take his garbage to the curb, and yells out to Tony)

**General - "Hey Tony! Tony!"

Tony Cline - "Hi Bob! How are you?"

**General - "I’m doing all right. Tony, what’s with the government people? What are they doing here?"

Tony Cline - "Well Bob, you know as much as I do. And if I did know more you know I couldn’t tell you." (Tony begins to laugh out loud and heads for the Agent’s vehicle)

**General - (Knowing that Tony is mocking him) "I’ll catch you later Tony."

Tony Cline - "Take care General!"

**General - (As the General is walking away he whispers to himself) "Asshole!"

Scene 67

(The Clines and Agents get into the agents car)

Scene 68

(The car leaves the Cline’s driveway)

Scene 69

(Inside Jack’s car - The Harpole family is arriving home as the Clines are leaving - Jack and his wife both wave to the car, thinking it might be Tony or Nellie since the car just left the Cline’s driveway - the car passes them, and they are not able to ascertain who was in the car. Jack then proceeds to pull into his driveway)

Scene 70

(As Jack’s car comes to a stop, he and his wife begin to make small talk)

Jack - "I didn’t see who was in the car."

Carole - "I didn’t either. Well, we’re here. Let’s get the car unpacked and get inside. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I’m starving."

Jimmy - "Can we have pizza, Mom?"

Carole - "We’ll see! If you help grandma and grandpa with their stuff, I’ll make sure you get your favorite."

Jimmy - "You mean pepperoni pizza?"

Carole - "Yeah, we can get one with pepperoni." (Everyone in the car laughs at Jimmy’s request)

Scene 71

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Plumock will be in a lounge conversing with some of his friends when Pluspan enters the room)

Plumock - (Talking to a couple of his friends) "You’ll have to excuse me. Pluspan just walked in, and he’s calling me over to talk with him. I’ll see you guys later."

Plutonian Soldier - "Well, good luck with everything Plumock. I know you’ll do fine."

Plumock - "Thanks!"

Another Plutonian Soldier - "Good luck Plumock!"

Plumock - "Thanks guys!"

Scene 72

(Plumock walks over to converse with Pluspan)

Plumock - "Yes sir! You wanted to see me.”

Pluspan - "I have some very good news for you Plumock. We just spoke with the Earthlings, and they’re very excited about tomorrow’s meeting. They informed me that a small Earth child will be there tomorrow as a show of interstellar peace. I want you to befriend this little girl, and find out as much as you can about her. If we’re going to live on this planet, we need to find out first hand what it’s going to be like. Besides, when our people get here, she could be a good example for our children to learn from."

Plumock - "To learn from I agree, to be used as an example, we’ll have to wait and see." (Plumock smiles)

Pluspan - "Yes, of course. Well, get a good night’s rest. And remember Plumock, you’re the one that has to show them we have only the best intentions. Don’t let me or your people down."

Plumock - "I’ll do everything in my power to represent our people with the greatest honesty, pride, and leadership that I know how sir."

Pluspan - "I know you will Plumock. That’s why I put my faith and trust in you.”

(Pluspan and Plumock exchange a plutonian greeting/ritual that involves opening and closing their hands – the greeting/ritual concludes with Plumock throwing both of his fists into Pluspan’s open hands)

Plumock - "Thank you sir." (Plumock exits the room)

Pluspan - (Is now by himself - he is reflecting on what was just discussed with Plumock - Pluspan is grinning from ear to ear – then a look of discomfort is shown on his face – Pluspan holds his stomach and passes gas)

Scene 73

(Inside Jack’s house – Jack and his entire family are sitting at the dinner table finishing dinner)

Jack’s Dad - "That was good pizza!"

Jack - "Yeah, we usually order from there. I know you and Mom can’t eat real spicy food, and they’re really good about catering to special orders."

Carole - "It’s a shame you couldn’t meet the Clines tonight. They’re really nice people. I was going to invite them over to eat with us."

Jack’s Mom - "Carole, do the Clines have a daughter named Stephanie?"

Carole - "Yeah, why?"

Jack’s Mom - "Well, in yesterday’s paper there was a story about a girl name Stephanie Cline. And the address is close to yours."

Carole - "May I see that? (Jack’s Mom hands Carole the paper – Carole gives it a quick look-over) Jack, listen to this; this article is about Stephanie and the Plutonian’s."

Jack - (Surprised) "What are you talking about?"

Carole - "It says here, that early last week in Stephanie’s Astronomy class at school, Stephanie Cline asked her teacher if there could be life on Pluto. What in the world! That is crazy!"

Jack’s Dad - "You guys go out of town for a few days, and look what happens." (He chuckles)

Jimmy - "She was probably making the whole thing up."

Carole - "No Jimmy, it says here she asked this before we were contacted by the aliens."

Jack – (Grabs the paper from Carole and looks the article over) "We’ll have to stop over and talk to Tony and Nellie tomorrow. I’m interested in how Stephanie knew that."

Scene 74

(The **General is inside his garage looking at some tools - His wife comes out to talk to him)

Mrs. Estle - "I thought you were coming back in after you took out the trash."

**General Estle - "I’m trying to find my Phillips Screwdriver."

Mrs. Estle - "So, did you find out anything?"

**General - "No, Tony was pretty evasive. I did get a close enough look to confirm it was the FBI though. The most peculiar thing is that they didn’t come in a marked government vehicle."

Mrs. Estle - " What do you think they wanted?"

**General - "I don’t know! It will be easy for me to find out though. You know I was thinking that maybe Stephanie has something to do with this. She left with them."

Mrs. Estle - "By herself?"

**General - "No, Tony and Nellie went with them."

Mrs. Estle - "Bob, I bet her being in the paper recently might have something to do with it."

**General - "You think?"

Mrs. Estle - "What else could it be?"

**General - (Shaking his head) "The more I think about it, you’re probably right. But why would the government need to speak with a little girl?"

Mrs. Estle - "Maybe there’s more to the story than what was written in the paper."

**General - "Well, I’ll find out tomorrow and let you know." (They exit the garage)

Scene 75

(Inside the agent’s vehicle)

Agent Leis - "We just want you to know Stephanie, you have nothing to be nervous about; this is a great honor for you and your family."

Stephanie - "I’m not nervous. I’m excited!"

Agent Leis - "Very good!"

Mrs. Cline - "Her father and I are the ones that are nervous."

Agent Eggleton - (Chuckles) "There’s nothing to be nervous about."

Mr. Cline - "How much longer till we get to the location?"

Agent Leis - "We have several more hours ahead of us so you should try to get some sleep. I know it’s hard to in the back seat of a car, but we’ll stop in a few hours to grab something to eat, and rest for the night."

(Mr. and Mrs. Cline look at each other and then tilt their heads back - Stephanie is already close to falling asleep and has her head up against her mother)

Scene 76

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Pluspan and Plumar are in Pluspan’s quarters discussing tomorrow’s meeting)

Plumar - "Plumock has already called it a night. I don’t know if he’s tired as much as he is nervous. He’s going to be very upset when he finds out the truth. But once it’s over, I think he’ll understand why we chose this path."

Pluspan - "I really don’t care what he thinks. And if he has a problem with it, I’ll zap his ass. Once you’re back with the information we need, we’ll get this show on the road."

Plumar - "In addition to Plumock and myself who else is going to go down to the surface?"

Pluspan - "Well, I figured just the two of you, and a couple of security officers. We don’t need anymore than that. Besides, it’s not like you’re going down there to be social. Plumock will do all the talking. You’ll just greet them, and more or less keep to yourself."

Plumar - "Understood! We’re leaving in about seven hours, so I’m going to go get some rest. (Hesitates a second) Sir, is there something wrong?"

Pluspan - "Why do you ask?"

Plumar - "Well, you don’t seem to be your usual self."

Pluspan - "There’s nothing wrong, Plumar. I just have really bad gas. My stomach has been killing me."

Plumar - "You’ve been eating Plutonian ice pulps again, haven’t you?"

Pluspan - (Pulls out a Plutonian ice pulp and begins to eat it) "Yes, yes I have. But not a word to the doc!"

Plumar - (Smiling & exiting) "Don’t worry sir; your secret is safe with me."

Pluspan - "Thanks Plumar!"

(Plumar is now out of the room - After initially enjoying the plutonian ice pulp, Pluspan’s stomach starts to turn on him - he grabs his stomach in pain and proceeds to pass gas)

Scene 77

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Plumock is in his quarters alone – he is pacing back and forth, feeling nervous about the dubious task that awaits him – a voice over of Plumock’s thoughts let us know what he is thinking)

Plumock - "Why me? Gosh, I hope I don’t screw this up. I’ll never have another chance to prove myself like I will tomorrow. All I’ve ever wanted to do is impact others for the better. The historical significance of tomorrow is more than one individual should ever have to endure alone." (Quick cut to scene 78)

Scene 78

(Inside the agent’s vehicle - the Clines are asleep, and suddenly Stephanie yells out)

Stephanie - (Compassionately, while still asleep) "You’re not alone, you’re not alone!"

Mrs. Cline - (Awakened by Stephanie’s outcry) "Steph, we’re right here. Who’s not alone?"

Mr. Cline - "Are you okay honey?"

Stephanie - (Awakened by her parent’s questions) "I’m fine! I was just dreaming."

Agent Leis - "Here is where we’re going to be staying." (The car pulls into a hotel parking lot)

Agent Eggleton - "Before we settle down for the night, we’ll get something good to eat."

Mrs. Cline - "We appreciate the offer, but we usually don’t eat this late. We had dinner just before you two arrived."

Mr. Cline - "Yeah, we’re fine! What about you, Steph? Do you think you could stand to eat a little something?"

Stephanie - "No thanks. I’m fine!"

Agent Leis - "Okay, that’s fine. Agent Eggleton and I haven’t had anything to eat since breakfast, so we’re going to grab a bite to eat after we get you settled in your room. I’ve stayed here before. They have a great breakfast bar too. We’ll have a good meal before we take off in the morning."

Mr. Cline - "That will be great! What time are we leaving in the morning?"

Agent Eggleton - "We’ll be by to get you at 6:00 am, so please make sure you’re ready to leave at that time."

Mrs. Cline - "That won’t be a problem!"

Mr. Cline - "About how much longer do you think it’s going to take to get there?"

Agent Leis - "Three, maybe three and a-half-hours to get there. Okay, let’s get everybody inside so you can get some sleep. We’ll carry your personal items for you, Mr. Cline."

Mr. Cline - "Thanks!" (They proceed to get out of the car)

Jack - "Yeah, but it’s not quite 6:00 am. Did you sleep alright?"

Jack’s Dad - "Yes son! I slept fine."

Jack - "I see that you put a pot of coffee on already."

Jack’s Dad - "Yeah, let me get you a cup." (Jack’s Dad stands up to get Jack a cup of coffee when he hears something)

Scene 80

Jack’s Dad - "Did you hear that?"

Jack - "What?"

Jack’s Dad - "I thought I heard something outside. (He looks out the window and sees the Colonel and **General getting into the **General’s car) Oh, it’s just your neighbors! They always leave this early?"

Jack - "Well, they always leave early, but this is pretty early even for them. It’s hard telling what they’re doing. They’re military officers, and they’re always leaving early for something."

Jack’s Dad - (Nodding his head in agreement) "I expect so."

Plumar - "Not at all, I’m just a little curious as to what these Earthlings are going to be like when we meet them."

Plumock - "Yeah, me too. I guess we’ll find out soon enough."

Scene 86

(The **General is in his office sitting at his desk when his phone rings)

**General - "General Estle. (Short pause) Oh, hello Henry. I appreciate you getting back with me on this so quickly. (Long pause) You’re kidding. But, she’s only a little girl. Where are they meeting? Really! That would be a good place. It’s in the middle of no where. Okay, well thanks again Henry. I appreciate your work as always. Good bye."

1st. Plutonian woman - "You don’t think it’s all a big lie?"

Plammy - "What do you mean?"

2nd. Plutonian woman - "Plammy, you know how Pluspan is always on these power trips. It’s only through our past history that he has even read about the great battles our people were involved in."

1st. Plutonian woman - "Yeah, he was born here, but has never been a part of anything like that. I just hope he doesn’t do anything to destroy a chance of peace, because of his crazy ambitions."

Plammy - "Yeah, I know! (There’s a knock on the door) Excuse me, I’ll get that. It’s probably Pulissa." (She walks over to the door to see who it is)

Scene 88

Plumar - "How long do you think this will take?"

Plumock - "Does it matter? This is something you should be more excited about, Plumar."

Plumar - "Yeah right! (Pause) Pluspan said the young girl will be accompanying them, and that they will be in unmarked vehicles."

Plumock - "Apparently they wanted to keep this as low-key as possible."

Plumar - "Let’s just get the information we need and be on our way."

Plumock - (In an annoyed voice) "Okay Plumar! Please remember to treat them with respect."

Plumar - (Sarcastically) "No problem, Plumock.”

(When the dialogue between Plumock and Plumar concludes, the vehicles are shown etching closer)

Scene 96

Plumock - "Yes, I am Plumock." (They begin to shake hands)

Government Official 1 - (Smiling) "Welcome to planet Earth."

Plumock - "Thank you! It is a privilege to meet all of you. These are my fellow officers. This is Plumar, our lead Science Officer."

Government Official 1 - (Extending his hand to Plumar’s) "It’s nice to meet you Plumar." (They shake hands)

Plumar - "Likewise! We have a lot of questions for you."

Government Official 1 - (Smiling) "We have a lot of questions for you too."

Plumock - (Smiling to the officials out of embarrassment) "We’ll get to all of that, Plumar."

Plumar - (Sarcastically) "Of course!"

Government Official 1- "On a personal level, I have so many questions for you guys that I wouldn’t even know where to begin. But since I am here in a professional capacity, the first thing I want to do is give you the information you requested regarding our planet’s atmosphere. Reynolds!"

Reynolds (Another government official) - "Yes, sir?"

Government Official 1 - "Give them the information they requested."

Reynolds - "Yes, sir." (Reynolds hands Plumock a package)

Plumock - "I want you to know how much we appreciate you allowing us to do this for you. Your planet is facing a grim future unless there can be a way to solve your ozone layer’s depletion."

Reynolds - "Sir, pardon the interruption, but the Cline family is pulling in."

Scene 97

(Will show the vehicle driving up to the site)

Scene 98

Government Official 1 - "Oh, Okay! Thanks Reynolds!"

Plumar - "So, this is the Stephanie Cline we’ve heard so much about."

Government Official 1 - "Yes, and from what I’ve read she had some keen insight about you visiting us. (Turning to Plumock) But, about what you were saying a moment ago Plumock, I want you to know how much the United States Government appreciates what you’re doing for us."

Plumock - "We’re happy to help in anyway we can."

Government Official 1 – “Thank you”.

Scene 99

Scene 101

Government Official 1 - "Plumock, if you and your colleagues will excuse me, I’m going to go over and introduce myself to the Cline family, and have them come over to meet you."

Plumock - "Of course!"

Scene 102

As the government official is walking over to meet the Clines, Plumock summons Plumar over to him to express his dismay)

Plumar - "What?"

Plumock - "Can you relax, and try not to pressure this young girl like you did the others?"

Plumar - "I wasn’t pressuring them. We came down to get information and answers and that’s all I’m trying to do."

Plumock - "Yes, but don’t be so overbearing. This is their planet! The least we can do is show them respect."

(Plumock and Plumar’s conversation is interrupted by the government official, who wants to introduce them to the Cline family)

Government Official 1 - "Pardon me gentlemen, but I would like to introduce you to Stephanie Cline, and her family."

Scene 103

(The Cline Family is summoned to come forward to meet Plumock and Plumar)

Government Official 1 - "Stephanie, I would like you and your parents to meet Plumock and Plumar. Gentlemen, I present to you, Stephanie Cline, and her parents."

(Plumock extends his hand to Stephanie and shakes it)

Plumock - "Well, Stephanie, it’s certainly a privilege to meet you and your family."

(Plumock and Stephanie’s Parents shake hands)

Mrs. Cline - "You’ll have to forgive me, I’m very nervous."

Plumock - "There’s no need to be. We mean you no harm."

Mrs. Cline - "Oh, I know that. It’s just that this is the first time in the history of our world, that we have been visited by beings from another world."

Mr. Cline - "It’s probably a pretty common thing for your people."

Plumock - "Actually, this is the first time for us as well. Pluto is not our native home, but we’ve lived there our entire lives. You’re the first alien beings that we too, have ever encountered."

(Plumar clears his throat very loudly. He is very agitated by all of the information Plumock is revealing)

Stephanie - "Why is your spaceship up there right now?"

Plumock - "Well!" (He is interrupted by Plumar)

Plumar - "How do you know where it is, Stephanie?"

Stephanie - "Well, if it wasn’t we could all see it couldn’t we?"

(Plumar is very agitated, and turns to speak to the government officials)

Plumar - "All of your questions will be answered soon. We’ll explain to you where we are originally from, and how we’re capable of exploring space. In the meantime, my associates and I will excuse ourselves and head over to our pick-up site. We’ll wait for you over at the site Plumock. It was nice meeting all of you."

(Plumar and the Plutonian Guards walk away)

Scene 104

Stephanie - "Why was Plumar in such a bad mood?"

Plumock - "Stephanie, Plumar is always in a bad mood. Don’t take how he acted to heart. So, please tell me more about yourself. I heard about the visions you had of us before we even arrived here, and I’m interested in how you knew this."

Stephanie - "All I can say is that I have these visions in my head and then they come true. You seem nice Plumock, but I don’t trust Plumar. He doesn’t seem sincere at all."

Plumock - "Let me assure you Stephanie that my people are here on a mission of peace to help your world. I give you my word on that. I know Plumar can come off a little cold, but his intentions are good."

Stephanie - "Do you promise?"

Plumock - "I promise." (Plumock pats Stephanie on the head)

Scene 105

Plumock - (To the Government Official 1) "Well, I hate to cut this short, but my people will want to analyze the information you gave us. We’ll meet again very soon. It’s going to be nice finding out more about each other."

Government Official 1 -"Indeed it will! Thanks again, Plumock, it was an honor to meet you."

Plumock - "It was an honor for me as well. Stephanie, Mr. and Mrs. Cline, take care. It was nice meeting you."

(A master shot shows Plumock walking away - a cut back to the Clines, FBI Agents, and government officials shows them all watching Plumock)

Scene 106

Mrs. Cline - "I wonder if we’ll ever get to meet him again."

Government Official 1 - "I doubt it Mrs. Cline. I think this was a one time opportunity for you and your family."

Stephanie - "I don’t believe that. I think we are going to see him again, and soon."

Government Official 1 - "Well, you never know Stephanie. And again we appreciate you and your parents agreeing to do this. And if however, they would want to see you again, we’ll be sure to let you know."

Mr. Cline - "Thank you, sir."

Government Official 1 - "Thank you, Mr. Cline. Well, I think it’s best if we’re all on our way now."

Agent Leis - "We’ll take you home now, Mr. Cline."

Mr. Cline - "Thank you, Agent Leis."

(Everyone left at the site proceeds to get back in their vehicles)

Scene 107

(Inside the Plutonian ship - a soldier is speaking with Pluspan)

Plutonian Soldier - "Sir, Plumar and the security officers are back on the ship. I guess Plumock is going to be down there awhile longer. He is still talking with the Earthlings."

Pluspan - (Lets out an evil laugh and then snorts - he addresses everyone on the bridge) "Are you gentlemen pumped? Soon, we’ll start analyzing the data the Earthlings gave us, and by tomorrow morning, we’ll start using the plusarian effect."

(Short Pause)

Plutonian Officer - "One of the first things I want to do is sit on one of Earth’s beaches."

Pluspan - "It will be endless as to what we’re going to be able to do. I was just thinking the other day that now when I go ice fishing, there will actually be fish."

Plutonian Soldier - "That was a bad joke, sir."

Pluspan - "That was not a joke. It’s been a reality all of my life. Come here you smart-ass punk."

(Pluspan goes after the soldier, but is held back by some of the other officers)

Plutonian Soldier - "Sir, I meant no disrespect."

Pluspan - "You watch it Buster! I’ll zap your ass."

(Plumar walks onto the bridge and sees what’s taking place)

Plumar - "What’s going on here?"

Pluspan - (Pointing to the Plutonian Soldier) "You heard me. (Then to Plumar) Never mind about this, did you get what we need?"

Plumar - "Yes, though we left without Plumock.”

Pluspan - "Why?"

Plumar - "I didn’t want to wait for him. He kept gabbing with the Earthlings."

Pluspan - "Plumar, you come with me. (Pluspan now speaking to another officer) Have Plumock report to the Plu Room as soon as he checks back in."

Plutonian Soldier - "Yes, sir."

Scene 108

(Pluspan and Plumar are walking away from the bridge)

Pluspan - "So, how was it?"

Plumar - "It was weird! Plumock never ceases to amaze me."

Pluspan - "What did he do now?"

Plumar - "Oh, just the way he is in general. It was to the point where I thought he was going to invite them up for tea and plutonian ice crackers."

Pluspan - "Speaking of which, we’re about out. That’s another reason to get this over with as soon as possible. I’m tired of eating the same thing over and over. First thing tomorrow we’re activating the plusarian effect."

Plumar - "Good!"

Pluspan - "So, tell me about the Cline girl."

Plumar - "Nothing to report, I think it was just a weird coincidence."

Pluspan - "Really?"

Plumar - "Yeah."

Pluspan - "Well good!"

Plumar - "So how do you think Plumock is going to react when he finds out the truth?"

Pluspan - "I really don’t care. And if he has a problem with it I’ll zap his ass."

Scene 109

(The **General walks into his home)

**General’s wife - "Hi honey! So, did you find out anything?"

**General - "Oh yes! And you’re going to be shocked!"

**General’s wife - "Well, what is it?"

**General - "You were right about Stephanie. She and her parents went with government officials to meet the Plutonian’s."

**General’s wife - "But, why?"

**General - "Apparently, they were intrigued about her story and wanted to meet her. My gut feeling tells me that they felt threatened by her knowing what she knew. As soon as the Clines get home, I’m going to pay them a visit."

(The **General’s wife hands him a beer and he takes a drink of it)

Scene 110

(Plumock enters the Plu Room, where Pluspan and Plumar are waiting for him - Plumock is visibly upset)

Plumock - (Angrily to Plumar) "You said you were going to be waiting at the site. Why did you leave without me?"

Plumar - "I didn’t feel like standing around waiting for you. You kept making small talk with them."

Plumock - "Whatever, Plumar."

Pluspan - "Plumock, I want to thank you for what you did. But now it’s time you learned the truth."

Plumock - "The truth; what are you talking about?”

Pluspan - "We’re not going to make peace with the Earthlings. The reason you were sent down there today, was to get a read-out on their atmosphere. We’re going to use the plusarian effect first thing in the morning."

Plumock - (Exploding) "You set me up. Why? Why do you want to do this?"

Plumar - "You said it yourself Plumock; there are over six billion Humans on this little planet. Where would we all live?"

Plumock - "That’s right, but I never said lie to them. I gave my word to them and to that little girl."

Pluspan - "Oh, that little girl! That little girl! Is that little girl being lied to more important than all of us? We’re talking about our people’s survival."

Plumock - "You could have gone about this in a different way. Sure, it would be crowded, but we could all live here in peace. The Antarctic isn’t inhabited except for animals and it’s a lot warmer than where we’ve been.”

Pluspan - "Plumock, I’m not going to argue with you. You don’t have to like this, but you better accept it, because that’s the way it is."

Plumock - (Shaking his head) "You two almost make me feel sorry for you." (Plumock turns around and walks out)

Scene 111

Plumar - "Once his family is here, I think he’ll have a change of heart. (Short pause) Maybe!"

Pluspan - "Well, it doesn’t matter anymore. We got what we came for, and I don’t care what he thinks; as long as doesn’t interfere with our mission. And if he does his ass will be zapped."

Scene 112

(On the bridge of the Plutonian Ship)

Plumock - (Talking to a Plutonian Officer) "I want you to give me all the information you have on the little Cline girl."

Plutonian Officer - "Yes, sir."

Scene 113

Mrs. Cline - "Agent Leis, there’s something I have to ask you?"

Agent Leis -"Fire away!"

Mrs. Cline - "Has anyone ever told you that you look like Buster Douglas?"

Agent Leis (Agent Leis is portrayed by former world boxing champ Buster Douglas answers) "Yes, Mrs. Cline. I get that all the time." (The agents wave goodbye to the Clines and drive away)

Scene 114

(The **General walks over to speak with the Clines)

**General - "Hey Tony! (Louder) Tony!"

Tony Cline - "Hey Bob! What’s up?"

**General - "Hi Nellie; hi Stephanie."

Nellie Cline - "Hi Bob."

Stephanie - "Hello.”

(Nellie and Stephanie walk into the house)

**General - "I just have a quick question for you, Tony; how did your meeting with the aliens go?"

Tony - "Excuse me?"

**General - "Look, I know that you met with them today."

Tony - "Oh yeah, how did you find that out, Bob?"

**General - "Let’s just say I have my sources."

Tony - "I’m sure the FBI wouldn’t appreciate you snooping around such secret government matters Bob. Just because you work for the government and are a Two Star General, it doesn’t give you the right to invade my family’s privacy."

**General - "You’re right Tony, and I’m sorry. But I did it because I’m scared for your family’s safety."

Tony - "Scared for our safety, why? They’re here on a peaceful mission to help our planet, Bob."

General - "Do you really know that for sure? You’re assuming they’re telling us the truth."

Tony- "I’m not assuming anything. I guess my question to you Bob, is why be so skeptical about their intensions?"

**General- "I just have a hard time believing that a race of aliens would travel this far just to help us out, and want nothing in return. I think they feel threatened by Stephanie’s insight to their arrival. Now I don’t know how she knew it, and I don’t think they do either, but I believe that’s why they were so keen on meeting with her."

Tony - "Well, I was there the whole time, and they didn’t probe at all. They were very nice, Bob. I think it’s a shame that a man like you, who has experienced war first hand, can be so doubtful about others desire for peace."

General - "You’re missing my whole point, Tony."

Tony - "I guess I am, Bob. Look, we just got in and I’m tired. I’m going to call it a night. I’ll see you later, Bob."

General- "Have a good night Tony."

(As Tony walks into his home the General has a look of concern on his face and walks toward his home)

Scene 115

(Inside Jack’s home)

Jack - "Well, they’re back. I just saw Tony speaking with Bob Estle."

Carole - "Do you want to go over and talk with them?"

Jack - "I’ll wait until tomorrow morning."

Carole - "Oh, okay. Do you want to watch the evening news?"

Jack - "Sure!" (Carole turns on the TV)

Scene 116

Newscaster - "In a statement earlier this evening, the president stated representatives from our government have already met with the Plutonian’s, and that they are here to help us."

Newscaster 2 - "That’s right, Mark. Apparently, all of our earlier thoughts and fears can be laid to rest. The Plutonian’s informed our government that they are here to assist in helping prevent the depletion of our Earth’s ozone layer. And once that’s complete they’ll leave as they came, in peace.”

Scene 117

(Inside the Plutonian Ship - Pluspan and his officers are talking about deploying the Plusarian Effect)

Pluspan - "Well, gentlemen, its judgment day. After running the tests we have made our final calculations. After this meeting we will start the plusarian effect."

(A Plutonian Soldier walks into the meeting)

Plutonian Soldier - "Sir, I’m sorry to interrupt, but we just found out that Plumock has left the ship and went to the surface."

Pluspan - "When did he leave?"

Plutonian Soldier - "We think sometime very early this morning sir."

Pluspan - "Very well soldier; you’re dismissed."

(The Plutonian soldier exits the room)

Plumar - "This doesn’t surprise me at all."

Pluspan - "Well, when I see Plumock again he’s going to be the one who is surprised."

Plumar - "Do you think he’s trying to get in touch with them?"

Pluspan - "Of course, he is. Before the Earthlings are wiped out what purpose would he have on Earth other than to warn them? (Pluspan touches a monitor on a console) Engage the plusarian effect! Yes, that’s right! Engage it now."

Scene 118

(A special effects scene showcases the plusarian effect taking place)

Scene 119

Pluspan - "We will deal with Plumock later. At least now we’re on our way to wiping out the Earthlings." (Pluspan starts laughing out loud and snorts)

Stephanie - "I knew!"

Plumock - "How? You know, that’s not important right now. I need to tell you something very important. Take me to your parents. I want them to hear what I have to say as well."

Stephanie - "Okay, follow me."

(Plumock and Stephanie proceed to walk to her home)

Scene 126

(Inside Jack’s house)

Jack’s wife - "They aren’t actual photos, but did you see the artist conception of what the Plutonian’s look like?"

Jack - "Yes, I did, and his conception was pretty amazing. I bet he got his sources from someone who works with the government."

Jack’s Dad – (Jack’s Dad is looking out the window – in a startled voice he calls out to Jack)

“Jack, come here.

(Jack rushes to see what his Dad wants)

Look out the window."

(Jack looks out the window)

Scene 127

(Jack sees Stephanie walking hand in hand with Plumock)

Scene 128

Jack’s Dad - "I’ll get my gun. That thing might kill that little girl."

Jack - "I’ll get mine too!" (Jack and his Dad burst out of the room to get their guns)

Jack’s Mom - "For God sakes, be careful."

Jack’s Wife - "It may not want to hurt her. (Short pause) Did you hear me, Jack?"

(Jack and his Dad burst back into the room with guns in hand)

Jack - "I heard you Carole, but that’s not something I’m willing to take a chance on."

Jack’s Dad - (To his wife and Carole) "You two stay here and take care of Jimmy." (Jack and his dad exit the house)

Jack’s Mom - (calling out) - "For God sakes, be careful."

Scene 129

(Jack and his Dad dart out of the house and run toward Stephanie and Plumock)

(Plumock is scared to death and hides behind Stephanie)

Jack’s Dad - "Help us! Help us with what?"

Stephanie - "We’re going to my parent’s home right now. I promise."

Jack - (Still pointing his gun at Plumock, who’s still hiding behind Stephanie) "Are you sure, Stephanie?"

Stephanie - "Yes, I’m sure, Mr. Harpole. You’ve got to believe me."

Jack - "Dad?"

Jack’s Dad - "Okay, but if he tries anything funny he’s going to become a permanent resident of that yard, because that’s where I’ll bury him."

Stephanie - "Okay, just let me help him up. (Stephanie helps Plumock up and tries to comfort him) Plumock, its okay! They’re not going to hurt you. I promise. They were just trying to protect me, because they didn’t know any better."

Plumock - (Looking up - he’s still lying low behind Stephanie) "Well, that’s understandable.

(Plumock stands and greets Jack and his dad) Gentlemen, Stephanie is right. I mean you no harm. If you want to accompany Stephanie and myself to her home, I’ll be happy to explain everything."

**General - "Good, because I would be very interested in hearing what you have to say."

Jack - "Bob, how long have you been there?"

Bob - "Long enough to hear everything that was said."

Plumock - "Let’s all step inside, so that I can explain to you what the situation is and what you’ll be facing."

**General - "I knew it! I knew it! You had better make sense fast."

Plumock - "I will! I will! Shall we?" (Plumock directs everyone toward Stephanie’s home – the **General, Jack, and Jack’s Dad are watching with keen, untrusting eyes - before they reach Stephanie’s home, the Colonel, his wife, Jack’s wife, Jack’s Mom, and Jimmy all walk out of their homes to see what’s going on)

Scene 130

(Everyone is now on the Cline’s front yard - Tony and Nellie Cline see everyone outside and immediately come out of their house)

Nellie Cline - "What’s going on? Plumock, what in the world are you doing here?"

Stephanie - "He’s going to get to that, Mom."

Plumock - "Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Cline. It’s good seeing you again. I just wish the circumstances were different."

Tony Cline - "What’s wrong?"

Jimmy Harpole - "What’s your planet like?"

Carole Harpole - (To Jimmy) "Not now, Jimmy."

Jack Harpole - "Yeah son, I want to hear what he has to say first."

Plumock - "It’s already happening!" (Plumock becomes dizzy and almost falls over)

Tony Cline - "What’s already happening?"

Stephanie - "Daddy help him."

Tony Cline - (Helps Plumock gain his balance) "Plumock, are you okay?"

Plumock - "For now Mr. Cline, but my time is near. I’ll take a seat here and give you all an explanation as to what’s going on."

(As Plumock takes a seat, a quick cut takes us back to the Plutonian Ship)

Scene 131

(Inside the Plutonian Ship)

(A Plutonian Officer is looking at a screen and sees something very disturbing)

Plutonian Officer - "On no, this can’t be. This can’t be! (He turns to another officer) Have Pluspan, and Plumar meet me in the Plu Room, ASAP."

Plutonian Officer 2 - "What’s wrong, sir?"

Plutonian Officer - (Very agitated) "Just do it."

Plutonian Officer 2 - "Yes, sir!"

Scene 132

(Inside the Plu Room, the Plutonian Officer who summoned Pluspan and Plumar is explaining to them that a reading on Earth shows something terribly wrong)

Pluspan - "So, what’s so important that you needed to speak with us about?"

Plutonian Officer - "Sir, we can’t go to Earth’s surface and won’t be able to for thousands of years."

Plumar - "What are you talking about?"

Plutonian Officer - "I checked the latest readings on Earth’s atmosphere to see how the plusarian effect was working; what I saw was unbelievable. The components and elements were sabotaged. The Earthlings will never feel any effect from the plusarian effect, but if any of us were to step foot on the planet we’d be dead within hours."

Pluspan - (Pluspan has his face in his hands then looks up and pounds his hand into his fist) "Plumock! He’s the only one who could have done this."

Plumar - "There’s no way the Earthlings could have, because they would have no idea about the plusarian effect’s components."

Pluspan - "When he came back and acted so surprised about what we told him, he was acting the whole time."

Plumar - "He had a back-up plan for us. I guess Plumock isn’t as gullible as we thought."

Pluspan - "Well, if he’s on the surface that means he’s going to be dead soon. He should consider himself lucky that he got off so easily. What can be done about the situation? Can we reverse what he has done?"

Plutonian Officer - "Sir that would be impossible without completely ionizing the planet’s atmosphere."

Pluspan - "Well, if we can’t have it, neither can the Earthlings. I’ll drop Plutonium on every square inch of this planet."

Plutonian Officer - "Sir, to do that we would have to enter Earth’s atmosphere. We would then be open to attack."

Plumar - "Pluspan, he’s right. We finally got this ship working. An attack of any kind could seriously jeopardize our chances of getting home."

Pluspan - "Home, what do we have to go back home too? Oh, our families sure, but if we go back in defeat we will have to live the rest of our lives in shame."

Plumar - "At least we’ll be alive. What other choice do we have?"

Pluspan - "If we can’t have Earth, maybe we’ll have to go out and search for a new home elsewhere."

Plumar - "Sure, but do you really think our ship could withstand such a long journey?"

Pluspan - "We don’t have a choice as far as I’m concerned. Staying here is not an option, and neither is going back to Pluto. It won’t be easy, but at least we won’t have someone like Plumock to interfere this time. His name will forever be marked as the worst traitor the galaxy has ever known. (Short pause) Well, let’s assemble the men to let them know what’s taken place, and what we’re up against."

(Plumar and the Plutonian Officer in unison) "Yes Sir!" (They both exit)

(Pluspan, now alone, is shown in deep thought suggesting he is thinking about his next move; at that moment he lifts up his leg and passes gas)

Scene 133

(Back in front of the Cline’s home)

**General - "Well, that’s some story, Plumock. I guess if nothing bad happens to any of us, we will be forever indebted to you."

Plumock - "I’m owed nothing. I just want you to know how terribly sorry I am. If Pluspan would have gone through with what he set out to do, every Human on this planet would have died. I couldn’t allow that to happen. Sometimes you have to put others well-being before yourself, and even your entire people."

Tony Cline - "What will happen to the people on Pluto, Plumock?"

Plumock - (Gasping for air) "I don’t know. But I know we’re better off because of this. Again, I’m sorry. (Plumock smiles at Stephanie then falls unconscious)

Stephanie - "Daddy help him."

Tony Cline - (Puts his ear on Plumock’s chest) "He’s not breathing. (He starts shaking him) Plumock! Plumock! I’m afraid he’s gone."

(Stephanie starts crying and is consoled by her Mother)

**General - "Tony, I’ll call the Feds. I also want to get some air power up there just in case."

Tony Cline - (Nods in agreement with the General) "Thanks Bob."

(Stephanie and her mom sit by Plumock visibly upset about his passing)

Scene 134

(An establishing exterior shot of White House is shown - The President of the United States will be addressing the nation)

The President of the United States - "Good evening! My fellow Americans, we have been through some historical times over the last few days. As most of you know, we were misled by the Plutonian’s. Yet, our best interest was kept in mind by at least one of these visitors. His name was Plumock. Plumock gave the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that we here on Earth would continue to live in peace. His decision to reverse what is now known as the Plusarian Effect cost him his life, and his people’s immediate future. His actions have helped counteract our Earth’s Ozone Layers depletion. Plumock will have a state funeral to be announced at a later time. His death will be remembered with honor, but most importantly, he will be remembered as one of us. Thank you for watching, and may God bless the United States."

Scene 135

(An F-16 fighter jet is shown patrolling the sky – the military is still on-guard - a voice over of an F-16 pilot will be heard saying the following) "Roger command center, everything looks clear up here."

Scene 136

(The Plutonian Ship is shown leaving Earth’s orbit)

Scene 137

(Back on Pluto, the Plutonian President is answering questions from reporters)

Plutonian Reporter - “Sir, could you speculate why you think Plumock did what he did?”

Plutonian President - “Why speculate? I don’t have an answer as to why he would betray his own people. That’s something that Plumock had to live with before he died.”

Plutonian Reporter - “Sir, with the elections coming up, others will say that this fiasco may be good for you, because it may lessen the Monica Pluninsky questions. What is your feeling on that matter?”

Plutonian President - “I admitted that what I did was wrong, and I will continue to do so. But, I don’t think that my trying to get re-elected should have me answering questions for something in the past. I’ve already acknowledged I was wrong. I want to talk about how we’re going to move forward. To me, it doesn’t make sense to keep regressing to the past. Thank you and good night.”

(As the Plutonian President walks away the reporters are still asking him questions)

Scene 138

(The Plutonian President is sitting in his office)

Plutonian President - (Talking to him-self) “When are they going to let this go?”

(A young intern - Monica Pluninsky walks up to the Plutonian President and tries to comfort him)

Monica Pluninsky – (She hands the Plutonian President a cigar) “Don’t let it get you down.”

(The Plutonian President puts the cigar in his mouth and starts to grab the intern - they both laugh and snort in unison)
