Welcome to this little booklet on gypsies. Sometimes we hear about gypsies from friends or acquaintances, we may listen to the varied stories of their gypsy encounters— you may have heard something of this sort: "they took her purse while she was eating in the café outside."
Numerous stories are told, but no one seems to really acknowledge it as a problem. For no one piece of literature has been even created on the subject to my knowledge. It’s not impossible to obtain some basic knowing of the gypsy people, though it seems no one makes an actual effort to do it. There are interesting stories behind who they are and who they were, but if we are to make progress in the right direction, that of being "safe" from rebel gypsies— I feel this is a necessity. The papers tell you of mishaps, I see them happen in front of me, and yet no one but a few websites has even talked much about it.
I wrote for you, some interesting “true stories” which reveal realities of true events, in this way you can get an idea of what happens when you fall into the gypsy realm. I hope to help you with precautions before you are shown through experience!
My intention for this booklet (which was written for prevention purposes) is to familiarize travelers of the gypsy people, those gypsies who tend to steal for a living, who prey on tourists and others. I’d let to teach you what you need to know if there is a possible confrontation. I point out that there are different groups of gypsies and different types of gypsies.
This booklet when referring to those that you must watch out for, is referring to a selected group of gypsies who adopted this way of living; I hope I have not expressed otherwise in my writing. I would also like to express lightly: truths, realities, and particular circumstances.
As I write from Rome, I’ve collected bundles of information, reflections of things written will be leaned more to the Roman gypsy life even though there has been other researching done. I wish to help you avoid awful situations, and wish you the best, and would like to help you have a better understanding of real life involving gypsies. I firmly believe, that this book can save a lot of people time and burdens if they take the time to read it. This is why I chose to keep it compact, knowing that travelers are for travels, and not for deep intensive reading! I have added a little gypsy background, histories and real life dealings, as well as prevention techniques.
I know that this is a subject of valuable importance, seeing many people in gypsy crisis on a daily basis.
All the real stories are true, as I have witnessed some, and others have been witnessed by friends or travelers that told me these stories. -jq
