Hi! I'm Stefan Motz.
I founded Globusz Publishing in May 2001, and have operated continuously since that time. Initially established as a traditional online publishing house, Globusz is currently experiencing rapid growth and undergoing a self-imposed restructure.
Restructuring a service in the face of declining profits is a tough, no-nonsense, operation that requires a willingness to face financial realities and to make difficult decisions.
The primary problem for all online publishers is an oversupply of players in the market place. Over supply means its harder for companies to remain competitive. And this usually means higher costs to consumers and less return to small number of authors who are fortunate enough to have their work published.
Because of market over crowding and volatility, profit driven operators, make it tough, if not impossible, for new authors to have their work accepted for publication.
The rapid advances in technology have drastically changed the book world over the past decade. And the increased demand for eBooks has opened up many new opportunities for publishing houses.
Globusz studied the marketplace and we soon realised that the old problem for authors hasnt really changed at all. Its still extremely difficult for them to get their work into print and to build a readership.
The response from the Globusz team is to, not only to expand our ePublishing service, but to make eBook downloads completely free.
We have reviewed all our operating costs and made drastic across-the-board cuts. We no longer pay our staff. Yes thats right. All our staff members are voluntary workers who have the same dedication to their work as I do.
They are all highly skilled professionals who are willing to work for nothing. They want to give authors the opportunity to become published they want to give readers a well stocked free library to download from and they want Globusz to become the leading eBook service on the Internet.
Our goals are ambitious, but we believe the public will support us. We believe the community sees the value in our service and it will help Globusz grow.
If you would like to make a donation please click on our membership page or if you need web design services we can help.
Thank you for visiting us. I hope to see you again soon.
Sincerely yours,
Stefan Motz.
