Nigel King
Nigel King Nigel King grew up in a Community Centre, which was described by the national press as ‘The Home from Hell’, notorious for offences of child abuse that were committed, mainly by its founder. He escaped from the Community Centre but it took a further thirty three years to unravel the knotted ball of anger, loneliness, confusion, mistrust, and hatred that he had carried in his heart and mind.
At thirteen, Nigel was using and selling drugs; at eighteen he seriously planned to kill his abuser and later experienced the pain of his parents’, his own and even his children’s divorce. Nigel experienced a ‘wealthy’ existence and also abject poverty. Nigel’s life has been many things, but it has never been boring. He is now a writer and therapist working with acquired brain injury victims.

Twiggy & Mr Shush in the Home from Hell This book is a short story about the author’s survival of child abuse experienced in a North Wales community that the press named ’The Home from Hell. It is both brutally heart-rending, and inspiringly heart-warming, and offers an extraordinary insight into the amazing life of an abuse victim.
The book has two parts. Part one is a factual story of the daily suffering of abuse and isolation suffered by the author as a child. Part two is a presentation of facts and information that is known about ’Mr. Shush’ and the Home from Hell. The booklet includes a chapter extracted from the author’s book entitled ’Nigel - A Damaged Boy’. It is written well and includes a harrowing narrative that is adult in theme.
